I mis-spoke, we have a proposal to ban the plastic bags, plastic straws and styrofoam cups. It's a tough subject but something needs to be done about it. I think it's very important.
We have had the trash cans for quite a while now. But it's hard to know what to recycle. For example, you can recycle paper but you must remove the staples. This is one reason why it's so expensive to recycle.
Yes China stopped taking our trash. I recently heard on the news, how expensive it is to recycle. Trash needs to be sorted through before it can be recylcled.
Are you participating in Earth Week (or on a regular basis)?
If so, what are you doing, or do, to help make a difference?
I recycle everything I can.
Here, we have recently banned using plastic bags that are used to package our groceries. Years ago, and still, have always taken my own bags to the store for whatever I need, amongst other ways to make my own small difference.
There are some secrets that can be harmful if not revealed but if it is a secret that is not harming your loved one, then I think it's ok not to reveal it.
Example: In my younger years, way before I ever gave birth to my daughter, I can say there are things I did back then, that I will never disclose to my 28 year old daughter
With that being said, I often wonder if the saying "what you don't know won't hurt you", is accurate because for myself, there are actually things I don't want to know about a loved one and so, I don't ask, in fear of what may be revealed.
I think bologna sandwiches are popular in most prisons. I've they sometimes serve stale bread with mold on the bologna and that other meals are unrecognizable. Ewww!
Earth week
Well that's a great start. Apparently water bottles are a huge issue also. I use a reusable/washable thermos like water bottle.
