RE: Better English!

Hi wave

I agree about the lover bit wink

There's a movie, 'The Sleeping Dictionary', is about that... I recommended this movie. I've watched it over and over again...

From Google:

During the 1930s, British officer, John Truscott ( Hugh Dancy ) journeys to a remote village in colonial Malaysia to educate and Westernize the Iban population. There, he is introduced to Selima ( Jessica Alba), a lovely Iban woman. In keeping with tradition, Selima is assigned to sleep with John and teach him the native language and customs.

A friend of mine who has been flying with Cathay Pacific for the past 29 years once told me the yummiest chicken she ever tasted are from SA. This is from someone who has visited almost everywhere.

RE: Better English!

While at school, we had only one pathetic English book. Once a day, 45-min session, that was it! The rest of the subjects, I learnt them in our national language, Bahasa Malaysia.

I speak Cantonese and other local dialects to my family members, friends and neighbours.

I remember forming English words or sentences in my head before I could utter them out to my teachers. I was too shy to speak to any of the Caucasian tourists I stumbled upon in my village in fear they might laugh their heads off! uh oh

Even though I did very badly in Chemistry at school, I still find it utmost important to have it in a relationship, near or far. Thing is, you can instantly tell whether you have it with the other person or not.

All my LDRs had had a lot of chemistry + biology in them wink blushing blushing

RE: best climate in the world...

Hi there wave

Not too sure about a country having the best climate but I've heard that Kunming, China has the best climate the whole year round wine

Here's an excerpt from ChinaTravelGuide.com

As the saying goes, 'the weather is always like that of early spring, and the flowers bloom all the year round'. Kunming weather is like spring most of the year, does not have bitter coldness in winter or extreme heat in summer.

The annual temperature averages around 15 C (59 F). Belonging to a low-latitude monsoon climate, Kunming is famed as ‘Spring City’, with green foliage all year. January is the coldest season at about 8 C (46 F), while July is the hottest month with an average temperature of 19 C (66 F). However, the temperature between day and night may vary 12-20 C (54 - 68 F) during the relatively cold days from November to the next February.

May to October is the rainy season here. At this period of time, the temperature may drop quickly along with the rain, so take a raincoat plus a light overcoat with you. Even in the hottest July, most parts are less than 21 C (70 F) for it is rainy or cloudy for most days.

Relatively, November to April is the dry season when around 20 days of a month are sunny.
