And does God allow children to starve, be abused and die for some divine purpose?
Should we follow ALL of the tachings of the BIBLE in order to better our lives and have our prayers answered? <------that one I'd really like an answer to
Turnng to preachi ng without answering the question, friend.
The BIBLE CLEARLY states that ALL PRAYERS WILL BE ANSWERED for those who believe. Read your own book, not just scripture that applies to what YOU want answered. According to our line of thinking, then, God didn't cure ANYONE with a miracle. Because those who prayed to be "cured" (it was THEIR WILL) and really were, became healthy through mere coincedence. In my previous post, JESUS" own words were quoted in Matthew about prayers being answered. Find me the scripture tht says "God only answers the prayers that reflect His wll." The only ones I find say all you have to do is believe.
Thaat's not the question. (whether or not a shortcoming makes us stronger or not) The question was, why does God answer prayers and perform miracles for SOME and not for all? According to the Bible, (matthew 7:7) "ask and it will be given to you...your Father who is in heaven gives good things to thos who ask him." and Matthew 7:20 "if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, nothing will be impossible to you." And matthew 21:21 "If youbelieve, you will recieve whatever you ask for in prayer."
Are we then to presume amputees don't believe in god?
I'd like to start out by saying that I was raised Christian but have since turned away from blind faith. So I feel that my responses and quesions are valid and educated and not just another athiest blowing hot air. That being said......I found an interesting topic on the web that I thought would be a good discussion.
Christians believe that God answers prayers by healing cancers, curing disease, etc. Here's a simple question......Why won't God heal amputees?
An intelligent person knows for a fact that amputed legs do not regenerate in response to prayer. Amputees get no miracles from God.
-On one hand, Christians believe that God answers prayers and performs miracles.
-On the other hand, God completely ignores amputees when they pray for miracles.
So what makes someone with cancer or another disease more important to an unconditionally loving God than someone who lost a limb?
Just remember........we're ALL losers here!!! If we weren't, we'd be sitting at home with our WIVES and HUSBANDS thinking about how perfect our lives are!!!
no, just trying to be funny and piss off a homophobe at the same time. I have a number of friends who are gay and it kind of sickens me when a closeminded religious zealout preaches morals to others.
Yes, that's right, ANOTHER why question for intelligent Christians.....
but shuld we live according to the teachings of the bible...(isn't it the word of God?)
