Hi Tom, thanks for your post. There was a hot discussion about this also in one of the class that I was involved. Here are my personal opinions about this:
- women do seems to mastering number of job's field that looks like not hard and men do the job that seems hard. Maybe it's because biological thing that most of the women can not lift heavy weight or something. But, unfortunately, men do also dominant in a lot of area that do not need to show your strength or something, such as accountant or marketing. And why when a woman become a CEO or president or somewhat in a high leadership position this will be a news? Because this is rare. Even in industrial countries, where gender equality is considered good, this situation is still news. A lot of news showed a low of percentage of woman in this position.
- There are some studies that showed how girls in average better at school. But yet when they come into labour market, most of the top positions and also most number of workers are man. The data about the girls for me showed how woman are more diligent than boys and that's not necessarily showed how woman more intelligent than man (school is not only about intelligent). And this also show me how woman and man can have the same opportunity and also capability either at school or at work.
- When woman show themselves in a tough way, people can jugde them as mean, aggressive, ambitious, rude, scary, have no heart, etc. People can ask you, what do you want? What are you trying to prove? If that happens to a man, people will show some respect, assertive, value them better, that this person had strong minded and strong will, etc. This judgement even harder if you are married woman and still working. I think that many people had been fighting for gender equality and woman nowadays can have the same opportunities to get education, involvement in sport, have the right to vote, enter the public market labour, etc. But yet some people still believe this stereotype.
- People at work don't usually reveal their salary. But from my experience, man is the one who usually dare enough if things come to salary bargaining, office promotion, self promotion, etc. I think this is the one that woman quite hard to do. Some part because of the stereotypes, some part because woman usually undemonstrative about their capabilities and not eager enough to pursue more.
- Some research showed that a better education for woman will improve better quality in the family. Research about woman in top position (CEO or same position) showed that the company get more profit if the top position occupied by woman. Other research showed how woman in the government can decrease number of corruption. I try to mean that gender equality is not a threatened but it is an advantage for the society.
This not mean that man should do all of the traditional "things" than woman do and vice versa. I just think that equality is good and people can discuss about this. Also, thanks for posting this issue!

Hi Baddabing, I did date with a co-worker. That was quite fun. I know also some couples who work at the same company. But they are ok. I mean, at least from my experience, people love to tease you if your spouse or boyfriend work there too. But that's part of the fun experience. As long as they are not an intruder and mind their own business, that is just fine for me.
Here are some facts that are interesting for me about infidelity:
- almost 60 % of man who cheated thought that they are happy with their relationship - almost 60 % of people who cheated fall in love with their partner of infidelity - 10 % of people who cheated married their partner of infidelity - 17 % of infidelity led to divorce
Conclusion from me:
- No matter how you fall in love with your partner of infidelity, you are not so much in love as you think you are. 10% marriage with partner of infidelity in compare to almost 60% people who cheat that fall in love with their partner of infidelity, come on!
- No matter how good your relationship with your partner of infidelity, your actual relationship is actually much more better than cheating relationship. Again: 10% marriage with partner of infidelity in compare to almost 60% people who cheat thought that they had a happy relationship with their actual partner.
- How long the probability you will success as a partner that start with infedelity? Infidelity lead only 10% of marriage and 17% of divorce, count on that and know the percentage of luck really must to bigger than that.
These conclusions might wrong. People have their own lifes. We all are mature enough to decide what we want to do. So, it's back from person to person. And hey, good luck and all the best!
Hi Roselilac11, I was in that kind of situation. That time I thought that I have choices that unfortunately during the time this circumstances turned around and I just realized that he is better option for me. It's life. You can calculate it, but you never know what really going to happen.
I think some people mixed confidence with extrovert personality. These people believe that confidence show with bragging and loud talking. But when people bragging and loud talking, this could means many things, such as protecting themselves, feel threatened, feel scared, cover up their failure, convincing themselves, feeling sorry for themselves, etc. In psychology, there is a term called reaction formation. It is one of the defense mechanism in psychoanalysis from Freud. This kind of confidence is a form of reaction formation, which kind of a form of showing the opposite of what they think or feel. In term of confidence, either a person is introvert or shy, this doesn't mean that this person not believe in themselves and their ability.
I'm still wondering what is the difference with Greece. I mean, if Europe have an aid to Italy, Spain, Portugal, or France, why can't they have the same aid with Greece?
I don't really know about politics, but I recalled there are few countries in Europe that went bankrupt, I mean from the old news I remember that Greece was not the only one whose on crisis in Europe. I just want to know how the other countries can cope and Greece can't. Is Greece get the same scheme of aid with the countries in Europe that also went bankrupt?
I agree with you. Some people want to run their economy and fill their pocket through war. If they can't do that, they feel like that must be something wrong with them.......
Hei, I'm single. I just want to know why younger man want to get along with older woman. Since I concern with long term relationship, how long could be this kind of relationship last. Will at some point the man reach their maturity or whatever and rethinking about the relationship.
I've been thinking about this since I was worked as part timer in restaurant before. I know that sometime restaurant just throw their rest. If it's possible to make an arrangement with them that you want to buy or if it's even better to get it for free, so that you can give to people in needs. I mean, the rest from restaurant usually still in a good quality. I wish that this kind of food still ethically, morally, whatever appropriate to eat.
