That is very nice Chris, however, It seems that in certain parts of the world they prefer to do it their own (outdated) way. They might want to keep us guessing on the nature of such practices, as well as their ulterior motives. As for the patients, I presume that they differ in their levels of the experienced astonishment during such occurrences.
I hope that some of you can set aside your differences of opinion regarding the so-called 'mongrel' nations, the plate-breaking rituals, the breath-taking 'I am not a robot' enigma, etc., for there is something much more important that needs to be addressed here (hm, it is definitely more connected to the topic as well).
So, lets start our 'little' mental exercise, folks! :)
The best thing is to start with the speech of Dr J. Schaler, an eminent psychologist and a professor at an American University, who received a prestigious T. Szasz Award in 2006. for his achievements in his field of study.
The speech isn't very long (less than 10 min.), and it is an extremely enlightening piece of video presentation, in which Dr Schaler very bravely say the followings, among other things:
- ''Psychiatry is not about medicine or science, but about POWER''; - He mentions ''Psychiatric Gestapo'' with its agenda; - He names the Manual of Psychiatric Disorders of the American Psychiatric Association to be''a great work of FICTION''; - He explicitly states that INDEPENDENCE (in thinking, & otherwise) is the ONLY true POLITICAL SIN, as it renders AUTHORITY USELESS, and it thus, infuriates IT so;
I would appreciate if you could take some time to watch this video-clip before you make any comments. Thank you!
P.S. I must add that i tend to disagree with him when it comes to his views on the holiness of some people he mentions, for the ONLY TRULY HOLY is the Lord Jesus Christ, because HE is GOD.
Apart from that, I fully support him in his Truth-Quest and its exposition.
