RE: Illegal immigration

No, I did not.

RE: Illegal immigration

When “then”? And where have I said that I believe that “anyone has a rightful claim to your Country”? Is too much to ask not to ascribe me words I haven’t said?

As far as I’m concerned, your resources are your own grief.

RE: Illegal immigration

I don’t know what you mean with “overpopulation”. Not so long time ago I’ve hear a professor at a Swedish university telling (and showing a graph), that in terms of resources our planet is not overpopulated. While population is growing, globally taken income per capita is also growing and at slightly higher rate than population.

But the distribution of the global wealth is terribly biased. It’s biased within any given country as well, and one doesn’t need any graph to see that. Wars, revolutions and migration are just means to redistribute said wealth more evenly. I don’t see how the process can be stopped. Of course, you can throw them back what they came from, but they will return. And you would have to throw them back again and again…

…the fittest will survive.

RE: Judgement for the Honest Person

I’m not a good judge of human character. Nor want I to be judged… especially by only few words I’ve exchanged with someone here. But it’s up to you to trust or not to trust. The choice is yours, so will be the consequences.

RE: How do woman feel about bald men?

It indeed is. But...

...the very same testosterone causes some unpleasant features as well, for example, aggressiveness.

Personally I don’t see baldness itself as unattractive, there are shaved/bald men with a just perfect shape of scull. Though half-bald men who insist on growing hair somewhere on the back of their head... that’s not quite aesthetic sight from mine point of view.

RE: Illegal immigration

Yes, people treat their own and the others in different ways in different countries, it wasn’t the issue. The issue is that Europeans do the very same things that non-Europeans, and at the same time claim innocence. That was my issue. In this case you have to grant them some innocence as well. Just for the equilibrium’s sake. Everything else is hypocrisy from my point of view.

I don’t buy clothes of certain makes, but you can never be sure when it says “Made in Europe” what that can mean. If you know exactly how every item you buy has been produced, then I glad for you. The only thing I know that there are things that I don’t know and never will. Hence, I assume by default that I benefit from the “third” world.

But what I’m completely sure of is that it’s too early, or too late, to proclaim collective sanctity of Europe.

RE: Illegal immigration

Childish? Well… if it suits you.

I refuse to accept your attitude towards emigrants. If you only expressed your discontent that some of them are upset by Swiss cross, I would agree with you, as childish as I am. People don’t have to live in a country when its symbols disturb them. But in the same line you made mock of their cloths. I can’t know about your country, but I know for sure that there are Muslim families here in Sweden there a woman has no other choice but have on “penguin” clothes.

Benefits? I buy clothes that are made in the “third” world by teenagers practically for nothing. There is no difference between these clothes and those that are made in the “civilized” world, but the price which reflects workers salaries. I use a mobile phone, and turns are made in the “third” world, teenagers work there as well (practically for nothing), working conditions are bad, they get injured, and sometimes killed. But I can afford using my mobile. And so on. I’m sure there are more other ways I benefit from the “third” world, perhaps without knowing the details.

Media? I don’t watch TV, though I read newspapers: gazeta.ru (Russia), Globe and Mail (Canada), BBS homepage (United Kingdom), Dagens Nyheter (Sweden). The first source you can call unreliable, if you wish, it’s ok with me. The most of my opinion about the subject is built on personal experience as such:

Few years ago, slightly after 10 a.m., Uppsala, Sweden, a small beauty shop, two customers: I and a Middle Eastern woman (“penguin” clothes). She asked the shop-keeper whether they had a certain cream, the day cream of that make was on the shell, but she wanted the night version of it. The shop-keeper answered that they had, but it was in the store room and she, ma parole, wasn’t about to go there. And at once she asked me what it was I wanted. I wanted a make-up remover, the price-tag for it was there but not the product itself. The shop-keeper answered that she would go to the store room and fetch it. She went and returned. With make-up remover only. The Middle Eastern woman turned and left the shop. Without a word. Without even a glance. I felt like I got slops poured over me. I’ve got the same feeling while reading some posts on this thread.

RE: Illegal immigration

(Haven’t expected that the first part of my post would be taken for its face value. Not from you anyway…)

I’ve repeated what I said before – insiders versus outsiders. In this case insiders are those who have the power, often it expressed in amount of money. All others are outsiders.

When the first emigrants came to other continents were they legal? They had visa? They learned the native language? They followed the local laws? No. Which hadn’t prevented them from implementing their customs and religions in a foreign country, and forcing their language, their religion, their law upon the natives. (Those who survived the happy event of being hosts for newcomers from Europe.)

Most of this happened few hundred years ago, some is more recent. But “civilizing” of the rest of the world created lots of problems, the illegal, and even legal, emigration is only a part of them.

I agree that knowing the language of the country of your residence makes your life easier (and richer, and I don’t mean money only – you get the luxury of being able to communicate with people, many of them are very good people.) I will not argue the insiders wish to defend their life style and property from being change and used by emigrants. I do understand the motives. But I don’t understand what justification some posters here think they have to make demands for emigrants to “learn and follow”, when they don’t express the very same demands for their ancestors, and in some cases for themselves. There is no historical ground for such demands. And “demanders” have no moral right to make demands of this kind.
