All countries have border controls rightly or wrongly to stop people coming to their part of the world illegaly. Some of the aguments used to stop 'outsiders' from moving in range from..The cost on local economies to 'house' them while their situations are being processed, stopping crime, some people say they are taking their jobs..there are many reasons...
People flee their part of the world for numereous reasons too...the oppressive regimes in their country, wanting to be re-united with family memebers, seeking a better standard of living...
I know here in Sarkoland they are repatriating up to 25,000 people a year.
Thing is ,I know lots of people here in this country who have no legal status to work, claim benefits etc..And all they want to do is work, pay their taxes and live a normal life. In the contstruction and restauration industries the number of illegal immigrants is increasing yearly..mainly becasue the indidunious people think that certain jobs are below them...street cleaners, refuge collectors, dish washers in your local restaurant..
And the exploitation that goes along with being an illegal immigrant...no social security, health care....Also not to mention paying to get to their destination of choice. Most off them have to pay in advance to reach where ever it is they want to get to..If they haven't the money to pay the crime lords, they more than often have to turn to crime to pay for that elusive ticket to the promised land. Be it prositution, selling drugs...even muggings.
What I have a problem in getting my head around is why don't goverments let the people stay in their country and legalise them, letting them work..;in the long run it benefits both parties..the economy grows (due to their tax) and crime drops because they are no longer dependant on the crime lords...
Then you throw climate change into the mix. Some countries due to no fault of their own have changed dramatically over the last 20/30 years due to industrialisation of the 'developed' world...And maybe their once arable land isn't so arable any more...
