The positivity in the majority of the posts above has really encouraged me. I 'met' someone on another side only a couple of weeks ago, but the small e-mails have turned into large e-mails and now we are video chatting for extended periods. He lives in England I live in Ireland, but I am English. I've been on dates with local guys, but there just hasn't been this amount of compatibility. I don't even know what compelled me to write to him, as I had kept my communications purely to local men. And now he's coming to meet me in Dublin in a couple of weeks! Oddly enough my family live in West Cork in Ireland and I worked out it is cheaper and takes less time to visit him in England than it would my own family here! It's early days, and it may be when we meet there is no chemistry, but if all turns out well I think I will consider a LDR. :)
I just started writing to a guy from another site who lives in England and I'm finding this thread so encouraging. We've really hit it off through e-mail and now I think I may contemplate meeting him in person. I'd initially ruled that out, as I've always thought long distance doesn't usually work out. But what I've read here has been so inspiring.
Apparently they were cut down before they were dead, as hanging in those time did not usually result in the neck breaking. While they were still alive they were then quartered. Nasty business
I actually prefer men of around the same height or shorter for some reason. I wouldn't rule out dating a tall man though. I would draw the line at a dwarf though.
I rarely answer those that don't have a photo as it always makes me think that they may have something to hide. But the few I have answered have all said they don't want to put a photo up as they don't want to be recognised by friends and teased. But I would ask....why are those same friends looking on a dating website if they think it is so embarrassing!?
I'm sure it probably works both ways. I've been chatting to a chap online for a few weeks. He's in Dublin, I'm down in Skibbereen. I'm coming up to Dublin next weekend to see a mate and he was all up for meeting me for a drink and now at the last minute he's chickened out. So, I guess it was a bit of pressure on him knowing I was going to be in Dublin. Never mind. Plenty of fish in the sea, as they say. :-P
RE: A long distance relationship vs. a local one? Whats your oppinion?
