Juneau: I am just wondering why so many men on here (loads of British men!!) don't put a photo on their profile. I, for one, tend to ignore the profiles without photos, just because I think it's strange! After all, they say that your eyes are the windows to your soul! I know that you can't judge a book by it's cover, but it's nice to see someone's face when you are messaging them or reading about them.
I am just curious to know!

One could ask the same question about women. In the case of men, it's probably equal shares of laziness, lack of creative/artistic aptitude and/or detail-orientation, and/or an unwillingness to show how fat/homely/etc. they truly are.

Of course a photo doesn't really mean anything ... it could be anybody! I personally just think it makes for a friendlier, more approachable profile.

You´re right. There are also many women who don´t post a picture incidentally, so the question shouldn´t really be directed to men only.
Some people really do have valid reasons for not doing so, and I´m considering removing mine. Partly because I´m no longer interested in finding a partner here, but mostly because I´m a little worried about how easy it is for people to steal and use the photos we post for dubious reasons.

No true meaning. It simply shows that you're taking the process seriously. No photos means you're not caring enough to make a reasonable effort at conveying whom you are to your potential demographic.

Usually after a few decent mail exchanges on here if they are genuine then photos are exchanged through regular email in my experience. If that does not happen then there is something fishy.

Sometimes you can do an image search on the net . If it's a scammer it will come up .

Because CS gives us the option to do this, they give us a choice to either do or don't rather than dictating saying you must have a picture or you cannot join. We as individuals also have the choice to state in our profiles that we will not contact persons without a picture etc. Why we chose not to have pictures can be for many reasons. Perhaps privacy being one of many.
