Ralf, Nobody is turning their back on anyone, let alone anyone still in the forum. Isn't that the whole point?
This isn't High School. This is the real (yeah, I know it's cyber, but what is typed is real) world.
We (I definitely include myself here) should be mature enough in mind and spirit to get over all this. Forgive what should be forgiven and forget what should be forgotten.
I love all you guys here and dislike it when schoolyard fights break up.
I may be newish here but it's not hard to suss out. It's a bit like watching a daytime soap - if you've missed a few episodes, you soon catch up!
Morgan, my heart truly goes out to your family. It is such a devastating thing to go through, but to have this inanity on top.......
I am a midwife in Australia. The counsellors here would have come to her room.
Please put your feelings into a complaint to the Nurse in charge of the unit, to the hospital administration, to the appropriate government department. The only way to get things changed is to do it in writing and make a big noise with it.
I've just had a delightful dinner with my daughter (21) and her partner. We don't catch up as often as we ought to - they live in Brisbane (120kms away). She is studying and working. I am working.
We went to a very good, very famous seafood smorgasbord restaurant here in Toowoomb, Qld. Big Plus Bonus, I got to finally use the $110 gift voucher my boss gave me last Christmas!!
Geez! And here I am thinking different varities of pasta grew on different variety of bushes!!!
This was actually presented on ABC Radio a few years back as an April Fools joke. it was presented as a news item from researchers in NZ Bit them in the bum because they had heaps of people ringing them up asking where they could buy the bushes Seems there were special borer beetles introduced to make the macaroni!
I can't believe people actually fell for it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So................................................And isn't that aiding the local and national economy??
I think I know what you're going to say: Makes money and sends it back to Iran. So what. He still has to pay taxes, wages, amenities; buy equipment, goods, food etc just like the rest of us.
I know many Iranians who fled when Khomeni came to power. They are beautiful, intelligent people who have suffered more than you can ever imagine and are an asset to this country.
So maybe Allen38 could have put the question a bit more diplomatically and offered a bit more information but does he really need to be attacked so vehemently??? Or, indeed, at all??
Why start in on Muslims?? He might be Bahai'i or even, hold your breath now, Christian.
Australia is a land of many cultures - this is what makes it so wonderful!
Xenophobia should have no place in this great land of immmigrants nor in this forum!
I, too, am in my ideal profession as a Registered Nurse and Midwife. Went to Uni at 40yrs and finished at 50, working and raising 3 kids. Best thing I've ever done (apart from being a Mum)!
It's never to late to turn around and do what you want!
All I recently met a man for coffee after meeting on another site and talking on the phone for a while. Meeting went well, I liked him, he like me. Gave each other a hug goodbye, I got into my car, he reached in for kiss and I nearly choked on his tongue!
Hi CGD, in one way I can say I know how you feel in that I haven't spent a Christmas with my 3 kids together for many years, but that's just coz we're so far apart distance wise.
What does upset me is that I don't fee comfortable having Christmas with my inlaws, with whom I was very close, because my ex is there with his new wife. I don't get along with her, but remain friends with him!
So in that respect I understand where you're coming from.
Totally understand going bush at Christmas - wish I could do the same!! Say G'Day for me!
RE: Kizzys bar is Now open !!!!!
I'll have some of the bubbly thanks James, if you're sharing it around!
