RE: Obama for president......Nonagesimal

And most informed people do realize that Bush caused more terrorism.

RE: Obama for president......Nonagesimal

Where is that SOB who killed 3000 on 9/11? Why wasn't he brought to justice? I know, Bush was in too big of a rush to go to war on a country who had nothing to do with 9/11. Why don't you stop spinning propaganda that 9/11 had anything to do with the war on Iraq? Because it didn't.

RE: Obama for president......Nonagesimal

Well all you have to fear Indy is that Obama does a good job for the majority of Americans who have enough of Bush.

RE: Obama for president......Nonagesimal

A vote for McCain is voting a third term for Bush

This is also from the law site which may not have been of interest to you.....

"When President Bush signed the new law, sponsored by Senator McCain, restricting the use of torture when interrogating detainees, he also issued a Presidential signing statement. That statement asserted that his power as Commander-in-Chief gives him the authority to bypass the very law he had just signed.

This news came fast on the heels of Bush's shocking admission that, since 2002, he has repeatedly authorized the National Security Agency to conduct electronic surveillance without a warrant, in flagrant violation of applicable federal law."

Brokeback Bush gets all his boy friends to do what he wants, even if they were a maverick and now are dubbed flipflopper rolling on the floor laughing

McCain was against torture before he was for it thumbs down

McCain was against the Bush tax cuts to the wealthy before he was for it. thumbs down

McCain was for party reform and swore of lobbist before he was for it. thumbs down

RE: Obama for president......Nonagesimal

Back to alfalfa, who can laugh at tragedies but not a funny youtube video.... Maybe you need to educate yourself on what has really been happening if you want evidence. This is not a blog it is a law site....I challege you to read it for yourself.

"Bush has used presidential "signing statements" - statements issued by the President upon signing a bill into law -- to expand his power. Each of his signing statements says that he will interpret the law in question "in a manner consistent with his constitutional authority to supervise the unitary executive branch."

RE: Obama for president......Nonagesimal

I don't believe they voted for the war on Iraq or were a part of the coalition of the bribed.

RE: Obama for president......Nonagesimal

Indy Putin was one with the balls to tell Bush to take his BS to someone who cared about his lies and rush to war. I don't care what Britian does to Tony Blair, I think they already know he is a poodle with no balls though.

RE: Obama for president......Nonagesimal

6. Violating the Constitution by using signing statements to defy hundreds of laws passed by Congress.
7. Violating U.S. and state law by obstructing honest elections in 2000, 2002, 2004, and 2006.
8. Violating U.S. law by using paid propaganda and disinformation, selectively and misleadingly leaking classified information, and exposing the identity of a covert CIA operative working on sensitive WMD proliferation for political retribution.
9. Subverting the Constitution and abusing Presidential power by asserting a "Unitary Executive Theory" giving unlimited powers to the President, by obstructing efforts by Congress and the Courts to review and restrict Presidential actions, and by promoting and signing legislation negating the Bill of Rights and the Writ of Habeas Corpus.
10. Gross negligence in failing to assist New Orleans residents after Hurricane Katrina, in ignoring urgent warnings of an Al Qaeda attack prior to Sept. 11, 2001, and in increasing air pollution causing global warming.

While impeachment is a very serious step that should not have been trivialized the way it was during the last presidential administration, it is also an indispensable part of a system of checks and balances that sustains our democracy. When strong evidence exists of the most serious crimes, we must use impeachment or lose the ability of the legislative branch to compel the executive branch to obey the law. This is not a question of supporting one party over another, but of upholding the rule of law over both of them.

The new Democratic majority in the House is helpful, but haven't Pelosi, Emanuel, and Conyers taken impeachment "off the table"? They have no power to do so. The American people have the power to persuade both the House and the Senate to take up investigations that will lead to impeachment. A majority of Americans support this.

RE: Obama for president......Nonagesimal

Little alfalfa there is plenty evidence....but you are in that small majority of people who still support Bush and his illegal actions no matter what the consequences or how he has abused his power and caused so much damage to America and Americans.

I am really looking for Porky Pig Rove to be charged. And Bush is under investigation right now for illegally wire tapping Ameircan's phones. I have been for a long time hoping to see these two and Cheney brought to justice so I pay attention to the investigations that are going on and I still have hope that truth and justice will prevail in America.

Bush also abused his executive priveledge rights and has been challenged by lawayers assosiations and historians in court and must allow the public access to things he wanted to keep hid.

The evidence of impeachable offenses by Bush and Cheney is already public knowledge. There is no question that impeachment is needed. The question is why it hasn't happened yet. Investigations will reveal more details and move the process forward, but the outcome is clear from the start. In fact, those who oppose impeachment very rarely claim that there is not sufficient evidence. Rather, they base their opposition on political or strategic concerns, getting their priorities out of order. Nothing is more important than restoring the rule of law and a constitutional system of government in which Congress can restrain abuses by the executive. If we do not impeach in this case, we will effectively remove impeachment from the Constitution and establish for future presidents the right to ignore the law.

Ten impeachable offenses committed by Bush and Cheney are:
1. Violating the United Nations Charter by launching an illegal war of aggression against Iraq without cause, using fraud to sell the war to Congress and the public, and misusing government funds to begin bombing without Congressional authorization.
2. Violating U.S. and international law by authorizing the torture of thousands of captives, resulting in dozens of deaths, and keeping prisoners hidden from the International Committee of the Red Cross.
3. Violating the Constitution by arbitrarily detaining Americans, legal residents, and non-Americans, without due process, without charge, and without access to counsel.
4. Violating the Geneva Conventions by targeting civilians, journalists, hospitals, and ambulances, and using illegal weapons, including white phosphorous, depleted uranium, and a new type of napalm.
5. Violating U.S. law and the Constitution through widespread wiretapping of the phone calls and emails of Americans without a warrant.

RE: Obama for president......Nonagesimal

Don't tell me what I believe. The man should be charged with high crimes and misdemeaners for misleading the public.....

RE: Obama for president......Nonagesimal

When 9/11 happened and the world united, people thought Bush had Big Balls, that is what they said. But after he kept running his mouth to start an illegal war and abused his power and so much of his illegal activities have been uncovered, the large majority of American's think he has no balls. There are a few die hards with their own interest in mind. But most think Bush is a girl. grin

But since you think he has big balls conrad, this video might impress you....

GOP strategist: Democrats outmaneuver GOP over GI BillStory Highlights
Senate passes an update to the GI Bill, extending education benefits to veterans

Sen. McCain and President Bush oppose it, citing retention problems

Ed Rollins: McCain's "outmaneuvered" and "on the wrong side of this issue"

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- As a bill that would expand education benefits for veterans has become a flash point in the early sparring between Sens. John McCain and Barack Obama, some Republicans admit that the Democrats may have outmaneuvered them on the issue.

Sen. John McCain has sided with President Bush on opposing a popular GI Bill in Congress.

McCain has defended his opposition to the bill that would expand education benefits for veterans, saying it would hurt the military that he hopes to lead.

The bill, which passed the Senate last week 75-22, would expand education benefits for veterans who served at least three years in the military after the September 11, 2001, attacks.

A former Navy officer and prisoner of war during Vietnam, McCain says the bill would hurt military retention by 16 percent and be a disincentive for service members to become noncommissioned officers, which he called "the backbone of all the services." Democrats cite the Congressional Budget Office, whose figures say the expanded benefits would boost enlistment by 16 percent. Watch more of McCain's comments »

"I think John McCain has been outmaneuvered," said GOP strategist Ed Rollins, who had served as former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee's presidential campaign chairman. "Sometimes in politics, there are intellectual issues and emotional issues."

"John McCain is going against veterans groups; he is going against a constituency that should be his. ... But I think he is on the wrong side of this issue," Rollins said. "A lot of Republicans are voting for this, and I think to a certain extent as it moves forward there will be more and more. There will be tremendous pressure from veterans groups past and present and I think you will see a lot of bipartisan support for this as well."

That war was so rushed....the inspectors were forced out or they would have been bombed. I don't think Saddam had much time to think that his family might need to flee or about the Iraq resistance.

Yep, you are just as self-righteous as the others...I guess that is why you clique so well with them. I hope you will feel the same when you are diagnosed to die, unless you think you have lived a perfect life conrad. RE: Obama for president......Nonagesimal

You know Indy, I could care less what you and your ilk think of Ted Kennedy, he stands for everything you are not....he is a fighter, he has courage, he cares about important issues and humanity. I would be suprised if you didn't hate him.

Ted Kennedy is one of the last great defenders of democracy and basic human rights. He has stood up against Nixon, Ford, Reagan, both "Papa Bush" and "Shrub" and has weathered many storms, both personally and politically.

Ted Kennedy's Record

Senator Kennedy has improved the lives of the people of Massachusetts and our nation for decades. His record of accomplishment continues to grow in his ongoing fight for America’s families.

Educational Opportunity

Senator Kennedy’s belief in America’s youth and in the importance of education has led him to look constantly for ways to improve the nation’s schools and colleges.

Homeland Security and Foreign Relations

While homeland security is a vital concern across the nation, it is especially important to Senator Kennedy. The Senator has spoken strongly about the $98 billion shortfall that the Council on Foreign Relations predicted for first responders over the next five years. He questioned how the Republicans could put a trillion dollars in tax cuts ahead of the safety and security of the nation by underfunding its ability to respond to disaster.

Justice and Equal Rights

Senator Kennedy has long worked to pursue equal rights and equal opportunity for all Americans, regardless of race, creed, or color. His leadership on these issues has had an essential role in shaping an America that is both stronger and fairer.

Making Jobs and the Economy a Top Priority

Senator Kennedy has championed the economic security of all Americans since he was first elected to the Senate in 1962. He has sought to expand our horizons as a nation through innovation and technology, while also recognizing that much of our success as a nation has come from the hard work and dedication of countless working Americans.

Protecting the Environment

Senator Kennedy has been a vocal advocate for environmental concerns throughout his career in the Senate. He has worked to protect natural resources, and to develop alternative energy sources. His approach to environmental issues is wide-ranging, from encouraging the study of the Outer Intercontinental Shelf to supporting efforts to reduce vehicle emissions to working vigorously to prevent drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. He has pushed to maintain high environmental standards, even as the Bush Administration has sought to undermine longstanding regulations.

Quality Health Care for All

Senator Kennedy is a leader in the Senate on health reform and has been throughout his career. He believes that all Americans deserve the best care possible at a cost they can afford.

RE: Obama for president......Nonagesimal

We give our opinion and we hate everyone. You ridicule, the poor, the homeless and a dying man and that somehow makes you a decent human being?

RE: Obama for president......Nonagesimal

And you are Mr. Clean? Who do you think you are kidding? You throw out such hateful remarks at dude all the time. But ofcourse you will use one of the lame repuke tactics and act self-righteous and not take responsibility that you are even worse with your insults.....never take responsibility, never admit your wrongs or mistakes, remember your kind are the minority, people are aware of the hypocisy of the repukes now....and how they have been played, used and manipulated and that is why people are sick of repukes and they will lose.

RE: Obama for president......Nonagesimal

Don't be a hyocrit. I admit I can't stomach what Bush has done to my county and it is my county so I will voice my dissatisfaction as much as I want. Ignorance must be bliss and denial is the coping tool of those who still believe in Bush but it raises some serious questions as to how anyone is able to follow so blindly when the large majority have woke up. You are in the small minority conrad. The Americans who saw through it from the beginning use to be the minority and I was one who always saw through bush. But now most everyone admits it.
Keep denying conrad, it's not your country that is sinking lower everyday these repukes are in office. But don't confuse reality with hate.

I don't want my words mixed with Robbies so I am reposting what I wrote....

This thread is about Obama for president Robbie if you didn't notice the title. What do you know about Obama? Why do you think he would be a good President? What do you know about John McCain?
Why do you think he would be a good President? You are the joke robbie. All you can discuss is your military experience. If you wanted to discuss your military experience with tom, noboby would say anything if you two went back and forth but when you start attacking the OP, ridiculing him and trying to take over his thread it
becomes obvious that you are only here to start trouble. You want to pretend like you know how everyone should behave and who is allowed to insult who.
You are the joke robbie who can't be taken seriously because you are too inconsistent which makes you appear to be mentally unstable.
Another reason you can't be taken seriously is because all you are consistent about is ridiculing people and pretending that you want a debate. Stick to the topic Robbie, is your mind capable of it? I don't think so,your ego has run amuk and all you want to talk about is you and your military experience which is not what this thread is about.
debate why Obama will beat McCain or why McCain will beat Obama.
Debate the issues in America. I would ask you to stop acting like an egotistical narcissist if you could help yourself. Are you a lonely boy robbie....you are worse than GW Bush....he is just delusional.

I know there are different people all over the world....good and bad.
I have met several British men on here that I have felt very fondly of.
Paul had such a great sense of humor and he didn't tell who he supported in American politics but he didn't get involved either.

then there was scouser, him and I were partners in crime. But he would just say it like it was and didnt' play any games. No, he wasn't always calm and nice. and if you expect that in a political debate I don't think you are being very realistic. And yes, I saw how you would disagree with one side and attack another. But enough robbie, politics is not always clean and nice. And we are all less than perfect but I hope you are having a good night and are feeling okay whatever is your illness. comfort heart wings

RE: Obama for president......Nonagesimal

Well, maybe I got that part wrong that he admires stalin but he talks about himself so much I must have confused him admiring himself and his genius and military expereince with admiration for stalin. It is an easy mistake to make. innocent

RE: Obama for president......Nonagesimal

I think he is debating with himself. He is always making excuses for his lack of significance by sayinig he is on MEDs. rolling on the floor laughing

If we are such a waste for wanting to express our political views and he thinks all we spout is crap because wer are tired of listening to him bragging about himself constantly, he should take spread his superior knowledge around to others while criticizing them as is his style.... roll eyes

RE: Obama for president......Nonagesimal

....the brit opposes the war, but admires stalin and opposes everything you and tom believe but makes it look like he is on your side againt dude. Alfalfa can spew all the hate he wants but when Dude says something back, the brit attacks him. This is definitely a divide and conquer strategy that the brits are known for using for many years. At first I could see that he was just pompus but then I saw this tactic being used. Now when this brit tries to tell someone how to behave I will just tell the pillicock if he could talk about anything but himself it might have some significance. barf

Did I call you Robbie, or are you just being paranoid? Go talk to someone who cares what you have to talk about....how much you admire stalin barf

RE: Obama for president......Nonagesimal

On a sunlit lawn in Connecticut, Obama replaced Senator Kennedy, who was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumour last week, to deliver the address at Wesleyan University.

His speech was evocative of the late John F Kennedy's call to public service in his 1961 inaugural address, although Obama did not quote the most famous line: "ask not what your country can do for you".

But Obama did pledge to double the Peace Corps, which was founded by Kennedy, and urged graduates to work on environmental and anti-poverty causes.

"After today, you have no excuses. I am asking you, and if I should have the honour of serving this nation as president, I will be asking again in the coming years," he said.

"I intend to make it a cause of my presidency, and I believe with all my heart that this generation is ready, and eager, and up to the challenge."

The symbolism of Obama's appearance at Wesleyan was unmistakable, bestowing the Kennedy family stamp of approval just as the Democrat frontrunner is about to clinch his party's nomination.

tom what is so wrong with Obama askinig college grads to do public service work and work on enviromental and anti-poverty causes?
I don't think he is asking them not to be successful in their careers, it is possible to do both. I don't get what you people hate so much about reaching out to help your fellow man. It is called humanity.

"A nation that continues, year after year, to spend more money on defense than social programs is nearing spiritual death." Danny Glover

“The modern right winger is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness.” -J.K. Gailbraith

RE: Obama for President......Octagram!

Why must you heckle this way? But who are you to tell us how to behave. You don't seem to have a clue. If you think Alfalfa was doing anything but brown nosing and taking another chance to spew his hate you are no one to be telling others how they need to behave. Because we see right through it.
If people here are interested in politics or like to talk politics or even know anything about politics they will participate. But I have noticed your superior behavior in other threads and criticizing others. Maybe we have just been being tolerate of you. sigh
