Hasn't happened me too many times, other than those foreign women, you know, the ones that sound and look too good to be true.
I have had a few Irish ones wanting to chat off-site, but I never follow it up... not only does it mean trusting them with one of my email addresses, also there's no moderation or fall-back if things turn nasty.
Is it just me, or do ye also notice how these people that want to chat off-site are never seen in the forums...
To me, seeing people in the forums means that you get to see their good and bad points, as well as general views on life, i.e. you get a good idea if they would be someone you'd be interested in or not. With these people who hide in the shadows and then jump out at you, you've no sense of what they're like, other than whatever garbage they try to swoon you with.
Honestly, I can see both BB's and PT's points being valid to some degree...
In any of the threads here that end up having any substance, there's a certain number of 'core' members that will be seen turning up and adding their opinion.
Also, sometimes, members are either just not around, they don't feel like being stuck in a particular topic, or read thru the responses, and feel it's done to death...
