Are you trying to say that you pay tax and public sector workers don't? If you think that you are very very sadly mistaken.
We pay tax, PRSI and levies the same as everyone else.
We also pay 2, yes TWO, mandatory pension conributions... the one we have always paid and the new one that was added on last year. A colleague of mine worked out the pension she will get is €162 per week. If she never worked a day in her life she would get well over €200 per week.
You say you haven't had a pay rise in 2 years.. Neither have we.. we have had 2 paycuts.
You say you we are the only ones with job security. Yet 3 of our staff were laid off 3 weeks ago.
So all of you people who think we should all be sacked and we are all sooo much better off than you... when you decide to listen to the truth... then you will have the right to an opinion.
While you are listening to the lies the government and media are telling you.. your opinion does not count... as it is not based on facts.
The staff in the passport office and in welfare and tax offices around the country have been working well in excess of the hours they are paid for... not overtime, just working the extra hours to make sure people get the payments/services they need.
Now when those staff are working only the hours they are supposed to work.. people say they are doing nothing!!
How dare you. How dare any of you insult people who keep your dole payments going to your bank, clear up after floods and storms, sweep the streets, , teach your kids, fight fires, rescue people from sea/mountains, catch and prosecute criminals, clean your arses and mop up your vomit in hospitals.... to mention just a few things
When you do a days work.. you expect to be paid. Well we have the right to expect the same.
