It's very interesting if you think about what is the real personality of someone. For example take away all the natural instinct and all the hormones from your body. What has left there? How would you behave? Now when you put them back one by one you will see how people are different as they got different building blocks. So I think people are what they are based on the chemical balance of their body. So what they want and need is coming from the same root.
The problem is not about recognising them. They didn't teach us in school how to "pick up" women. For example last week in a shop I started to talk about the "the covalent bond" from chemistry which I learned in school and never ever used in my life, but the woman looked at me very weirdly and run away in a second.
