Finally, this whole problem we have isn't just Bush and this government , it's american's attitudes and ethics in general. We have come to think credit is the only way to go , and instant gratification is entitled . It really is alot of that don't you think ?
Recession to the government is figures on GNP , unemployment , and other factors which they choose to use to manipulate their case. Recession to real americans is high unemployment , lost real estate values, low consumer confidence, high inflation combined with increased fuel prices , home forclosures, lack of mortgage lending, financial collapse, stock market suspensions, etc....
In short the term "Recession " is different with who you ask. But you need not worry because our government has told us " the economy is fundamentally strong "

Ok, in short here's what I suggested; Bush immediately brought us into two wars , one which we went into almost unilaterally. Americans immediately began to clam up with spending and became uneasy about the outcome of these wars. For years now americans have been seeing silent pictures of our killed kids displayed on TV. People still invested in real estate for a while then when it went slow they surged the stock markets. Trading went seemingly unchecked as people made trades with eveyone elses money - calls, puts, shorts, naked shorts, margin money trading. Our administration did nothing. Then it became clear that we had economic problems ( recession) and Bush continued to tell us nothing was seriously wrong ........but in the next breath he was explaining a economic stimulous package that was a total joke. ( how could anyone think that $300 would help anyone at that point ) Bush administration continued to push escalation of the Iraq war, more troops, more money , More More more ..........all to the dismay of american people's wishes. Americans were disgusted with the war. Consumer confidence went in the toilet, real estate went in the toilet, the stock market went in the toilet ...........and still the president came on TV and told us " the economy is economically strong" ! Now this administration wants to throw money at the problem , always this is the fix in their minds . Just tuen up the printing presses. Money will make the oversight problems go away. I think what you'll see next is possibly a freeze on the financial sector of the stock market - we just can't print enough money to buy all these banks that are failing. But still - no real solution , no sound reasoning, just more of the same . Let's hope it changes...
I could go on and on............ where does anyone in their right mind think that this isn't fact . How could anyone in their right mind think that this is Clinton's fault ? We had the best economy I can remember and a surplus debt when he left . It's total denial for anyone to ignor the facts of what this administration has done to the economy and the american people. YES, we have democrats in congress who are also very much to blame - But Bush and his buddies were in the captain's chair for 8 years !!

Regarding Wa Mu failure, it was the biggest bank failure in our history. Being taken over by JP Morgan only saved the depositers. Investors lost BILLIONS !! For BUSH to come back on TV this am again , it's clearly an indicator that things are spinning out of control So , if any of you are still thinking things are alright - you're gonna eventually wake up to see the wreckage

Well DIO , I look accross the street and see two of my neighbors in forclosure , and this is an upscaled neighborhood in California . I see alot of my friends in the housing and construction business and every business that are off-shoot services to those businesses , and they too are out of work. My Dad just died and my mom has money in Wash Mutual bank and she's in a panic at age 84 to get her money and put it somewhere safe . I am completely out of work and hemoraging money to stay afloat - I'm a building contractor . SO DON'T TELL ME ABOUT THE GROSS DOMESTIC PRODUCT and YOUR OIL and GAS PROFITS !!!! WE ARE Damn Near in a DEPRESSION and it's folk's like you that will only enhance it with that narrow minded and selfish atitude .
