Obviously honesty and respect are the qualities that matter be it friendship or more. Yet on this site and on others as well it seems that the screening process of the site itself that lets in far far to many scammers. People who say they are from one place when in actuality they are from another, namely Nigeria/ Ghana and the like. All they need to do is look at a map of the US/ UK/ Europe/ South America... whereever and sign up with a city or town from the map
This in itself leads to lies of self protection/ mistrust and a general sense of guardedness. Some time back I met a nice girl from the next state over... not far from me, maybe 25 miles. Talked for a week or so and we got on really good, then the inevitable... "I need help, my mom needs surgery and Im in Ghana with her right now, we need 500 dollars or the doctor wont heal her."
With that kind of crap happening, how is it not possible to guard ones self and have some initial issues with trust?
Only problem with that is that 1,000,000 dollars would be worth 100 dollars. the inflation effet would be catastrophic. Soon we will be printing 1,000,000,000 dollar bank notes like the Congo :)
Met a wonderful girl several weeks ago and we talk daily for long periods of time and it is like weve known on another for years as the comfort/ ease of talking together is amazing. We are both quite interested in each other.
Is it to soon to express that in the sending of a card or just expressing the whole valentine thing. Traditionally Valentines day is for lovers or for the expression to a woman that you see in her a very special person that you want to know much more, grow closer too.
Landmine being... potential of blowing it by moving to quickly or just as disasterous of not acknowledging the day at all.
Personally Im sick of it all. There will never be an end to this as long as there is 1 Israeli and 1 Arab left alive. The hatred just runs far to deep.
I say, go in. take away the guns and modern weaponry and throw out a couple of million swords and let 'em have at it till its finished one way or the other.
