Depends on what you mean by the spirit world. With the advent of science and quantum mechanics theories there is talk of many different dimensions and even potential universes... a multiverse if you will. Who is to say that they sometimes touch or even overlap in some areas. Which could cause some interesting visions and effects.
So, what you are saying is in effect. This is the way the country is now. You can either stay here and work for what we want to pay you or you can go somewhere else because there is always someone who will work for less. And when they dont like it they can do the same because guess what? There are yet more willing to work for even less.
Yeah? And what difference does that make to the price of tea in china? The bribes are done by the employees of the corporation (arm leg, mouth, hand, foot however you want to describe it) Bottom line its still the corporation doing the bribing.
A difference which makes no difference is no difference.
I can go with you all day if you want to just argue semantics on the issue.
According to the SCOTUS a corporation has all the rights of a 'person' so therefore it also has the ability to be held accountable for its actions as any other 'person'
Really? Wow. Silly me. And here I thought that almost all the corruption scandals Ive read over the past 30- 35 years of my life were where the politician got paid off by the corporations in exchange for certain favors. Again, WOW. Thanks for enlightening me on the true facts of the matter. No, wait... you didnt provide any facts Conrad. You just gainsaid me. Whew
Of course Ill keep blaming the corporations. Because it is they who are corrupting the politicians in the first place. Nice try at the end around play though, Ill give ya props for that one.
Unfortunately, that is not how it works in real life. What happened to all those people who lost everything they had in the savings and loan debacle? To those who lost their retirement savings with Enron and Worldcom? To those who lost their homes through no fault of their own? Though losing their jobs as a result of the banks/ Wall Street derivatives schemes?
All comes down to the same factor. Corporate greed and because of that greed we are in the mess we are in now.
No Conrad, we fix the system. We get rid of that insane SCOTUS decision that Corporations are 'people'. We FAIRLY tax the rich as we do the ever shrinking middle class and poor. We place limits on how large a corporation can grow. To big to fail just cannot be allowed. We put the Glass Steagal Act back in full force. We start treating the citizens of the country as citizens again not as consumers.
We do that and maybe, just maybe this country stands a chance to continue as it should. Maybe.
I wouldnt be surprised one day to see the 'Senator' from McDonalds and the 'Congressman' from CitiBank face off in a Presidential election (sponsored by Goldman Sachs).
"Definition of CORPORATISM: the organization of a society into industrial and professional corporations serving as organs of political representation and exercising control over persons and activities within their jurisdiction"
"Definition of CAPITALISM: an economic system characterized by private or corporate ownership of capital goods, by investments that are determined by private decision, and by prices, production, and the distribution of goods that are determined mainly by competition in a free market
Guess which one we live under... Hint: Its not the second of the two.
"Britain's embattled News of the World, the world's top-selling English-language newspaper, will shut down after Sunday's edition. The scandal-hit tabloid, owned by Rupert Murdoch's News Corp., has been at the center of phone hacking charges. Victims of the alleged phone hacking, where reporters are said to have obtained PIN numbers and listened to voicemails, include a teenage murder victim, celebrities, royalty and at least one man killed in the 2005 London bombing. Murdoch has condemned the allegations against News of the World as "deplorable and unacceptable." Murdoch's media empire extends to the U.S. to include Fox News and the Wall Street Journal."
A man walks into a bar after losing a major lawsuit and sits down to lift a few scotches. After he quaffed down a few while ruminating over how much moneys lost he stands up and yells "ALL LAWYERS ARE a**hole!!"
A moment later another man down at the other end of the bar stands, looks at the first man and quietly states "I resent that remark sir".
The first man sneers as he says "You must be a lawyer."
The second man pauses for a moment then says "No, Im an a**hole."
I dont think MJ has a place here. Sorry but pedophilics just dont deserve to be praised for any possible accomplishments when they ruin the lives of children.
That is very true, they did build on the work of blues. All of rock n roll was built on blues from the very beginning. The Beatles simply brought it to a different level. As did the Beach Boys and others of the earlier pioneers. But, the Beatles did it best.
You are such a one trick pony Conrad. Getting very very bored with it. When you can start talking FACTS instead of lying, telling half truths and belittling people for the fun of it maybe Ill start to listen to what you have to say one day. But, we both know that will never happen. Which is too bad. You are a person who loves to twist facts to fit your agenda, when you are called to the carpet about that you then start attacking in any other direction in an attempt to deflect attention away from the falsehoods that you love to spread. You do have a Glenn Beck style to the misinformation you spew forth.
Once again, not a personal attack. Just from observation its quite easy to tell who you are at heart and soul. A petty boy with no clue what honesty and integrity mean. I actually used to think that there were some validity to some of the points you made but now I just see you as what you are. Hope to the gods that these arent the values you teach your kids/ grand kids because if it is I feel very very sorry for them. And for you.
