Since love being the operative word here where age is concerned, consider this; Love is ageless. Love may grow, love may mature and bloom and become true love, but love does not have a birthday. Therefore, love is timeless....cherish it, especially when two hearts are in love.
It should not matter what others may think or feel about a couple who's in love if they differ in age. It is how you feel for each other that matters most.
So to answer both of your questions, it should never be a problem if there is true love between the two of you.
Lest we forget that NON-American's also reside here in the States and if you were to check the stat's around border states, you will find that a lot of shootings in the US are done by foreigners. Please do not single out just Americans here.
I prefer my lady to be who she is. As long as we love each other, we should be able to work out those differences together until we "fit like a glove." It can and does happen, if you know what you're doing.
It's not just the "black market" per se, we also have desperate drug users who've stolen their daddies gun to sell ASAP so they can buy another fix....this is just one example out of many.
A very good question. And I think you may have hit on something here. I am uncertain if whether or not psychological evaluation is mandatory prior to filing for a gun permit, but perhaps if it were, there would be less amount of people getting the permit. However, that still would not resolve the problem of the crazoids obtaining guns....they'll just buy them on the streets.
People with mental problems are unable to get any gun permits in the US. That is a federal law. The problem is these people are buying guns through illegal dealers on the streets.

I try to stay open minded about everything, however, it may sometimes be hard to see the picture as it was meant to be seen by the artist who had painted it.
I own guns for hunting PLUS self defense. Where I live, there are few criminals...BUT, there are wild animals roaming freely about. So, to take away my guns, how should one expect me to defend myself from a hungry mountain lion or a bear should it wander into my path? Should I try to beat it with a stick? Throw rocks at it? Wave a magic wand?
I understand the concerns of people who believe guns should be banned, but please take into consideration and weigh out all probable reasons why guns are necessary.
Why should respectable, law abiding citizens be punished for what the criminals do?
