If you were dating a married man, and you didn't know it, that is not so good, but if you know he is married, and you are still thinking about it, then that is not good at all..
How many times do you want to carry on about baby boomers.. do you think we were special... we might have lived in some of the most fun music times... but life, as always, is what we made it...
Um... Pete... you know that Aus is arid mostly... Just because you moan about your rain, we just about have a party when our middle gets a little... and where I live, it is a poor rainfall, and some years the drought goes on for 8 yrs...
It may look like it to you, but the reality is, we don't really even let boat people into the country anymore... we keep them on islands off shore mainly, and they stay in detention for ages.. some opt to return voluntarily to wherever they hailed from.
Is this how you think people should treat people..
In previous years, we did have a huge influx of boat people, and they came and kept coming. and in all of this coming, tragedy happened, as those boats were not seaworthy, and many many died..
So, now our PM has organised to tow the boats back.. and the boats do not come anymore..
coupled with the fact that arrivals go to PNG and other places, but not Aussie mainland...
I think the word has gotten out to not come here anymore...
my first language was where I was born, but I only stayed there until I was three... then we came to Aus.. so I lost the use of my first language by the time I was 7, and have spoken English since.
I can understand a spattering of words, but to speak it no..
Exactly Riz... I so agree re the young uns from China...
They come here at their parents massive expenses to study, and all of a sudden they are in the real world...
There was a program the other night, around how they struggle to understand English, never mind read and write it, and in their Uni courses, plagerism was a biggie..
Uni lecturers, came on the program saying these Chinese kids try everything in the book to convince the lecturers to please allow them to re do an exam paper, because all of a sudden, they realise their parents are Expecting results... I wont go on, but I am sure you get my drift..
I also see them at the markets in the city, they seem to be able to purchase any fancy brand name shoes, ugg boots, sunnies anything at all... I do wonder how much their parents know of their life here... and for goodness sake, they seem to have a mobile phone glued to their ears... ( clearly, someone is paying the bill there too)
sad isn't it..
not only for the parents but for the young uns as well, because if they never had it hard in their own country, they sure wont get past sterny lecturers... although there is a certain level of misconduct from the uni's..which the program highlighted, but if that is rectified... more students will be sent back without any certificates..
Over here... also, if I were to say... I put my hand on you... that would mean danger...eg.. I want to hit you...( of course, I don't, just explaining why I asked you in the first place..)
but only you know what he would have meant, being you are in a position to know the circumstances... and the mood, and the body language he used... and also, I assume you know this person reasonably well?
RE: What has everyone been up too?
My hood is nice n quiet... off to see Sydney tomorrow, I know, its raining big time there, never mind..
