When I first started here on CS... I was a little apprehensive, but game as Ned Kelly... I jumped straight into the forums.. and found it all to be a huge amount of fun..
Then, as world events came and went, I realised that I was forcing myself to read up on what I normally would never have bothered with.. so it became a learning experience.
When all the African top countries had their civil wars, that was amazing, as we had a member who reported activities.. from his side of the pond..of which ship came into port etc... and it suddenly occurred to me, that I was getting world news before our own news reported it..
The other lovely thing that has happened, I have extended my usually generous acknowledgement of cognitive learning, and responses to a higher level of acknowledgement... stuff like this doesn't happen in real life.. we don't get to know the thoughts and opinions of people around the world very often.
and the last lovely thing, that I think we can all lay claim to, is that by our diversity and cultural experiences, we care enough to appreciate members for their good and bad, and acknowledge, that everyone has these days all around the world, but in some countries, it might just be a tad more difficult to get through that day in good humour...
which leads to friendships being formed... and that is all good.
Oh, I forgot... I work full time, so clearly I cannot live on here, but should CS die, well, so be it.. but it would be difficult to find another free site which has all these features, and opportunities to exchange ideas and banter and knowledge..
Atta boy Micky... I think you should be right proud of yourself..
Well done, and keep it up... wont be long, and you will be wondering how you ever fitted into those clothes in your wardrobe.. and you will be all primed up to go out and buy new ones..
Seriously though, it was a longish radio segment that I was listening to ... and lots of things were mentioned around what it is the people believe... I don't recall in particular the monkeys, but all sorts of weird stuff which did not make logical sense..
however, I do acknowledge that other cultures have different cognitive learning ,
I need to think very much more, and inform myself much more before I could answer your question.
But I tend to think, that when people are brainwashed from very young ages around religious beliefs, they will grow up and continue this 'warring mentality'.
That Israel is surrounded by Arab and predominately Muslim religions is not helpful... That the Arab countries who have religion as their mainstay.. like ours is meat and 3 veg is also not helpful..
That business of the radicals wanting the whole world to think their way is also not helpful... and I am talking all radicals anywhere..
and the doctors are leaving... I heard on the radio, a segment from a doctor who returned... and he says the situation there around doctors and nurses is dire..
he was saying that some wards have 60 odd people, and maybe on some days... just one or two nurses... sometimes the nurses don't come to work, depending on whatever they have heard or seen, along with that others from the villages are saying rubbish around misplaced beliefs on how to catch it, including, that the doctors are actually infecting patients..
I heard also, that some of the people of the area, because of their particular beliefs, think that doctors are spreading it, and refuse to acknowledge how the medics tell them this disease is spreading...
the peace fire lasted not at all.. and this time...Israel is pulling out all stops..
Netanyanhu is angry now..!!!
Sometimes when I read this, and its all on a screen, it almost seems that it comes from another planet.. I feel very remote from all of this... like a horror story that one reads, but doesn't equate it with reality...
Logically I know its real, and that it is happening,
but this could all be the dinosaur era rather than the 21st century for all the advancement of mankind and its technology..
According to several prophets, the controversy will only intensify as we draw closer to the return of Jesus, when a vast coalition of nations will invade Israel and surround the city of Jerusalem, seeking to commit the final genocide against the Jewish people. The prophet Joel tells us that the Lord will execute judgment against all parties involved in this invasion, and specifically any who force the dividing of His land:
I will gather all the nations and bring them down to the valley of Jehoshaphat. Then I will enter into judgment with them there on behalf of My people and My inheritance, Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations; and they have divided up My land. (Joel
Oh..my... I am glad I don't actually believe it... but its worth noting ...just in case.
