RE: Has anyone ever seen a ghost?

ummm...woke up at 5.30am, and thought what the heck?? so went back to sleep till 7.30am, then woke with rich's favorite song in my head (when september ends by green day, especially the 'wake up' bit of that song)

anyhoo, i gets on the net, were chatting away, and i said to him i woke up at 5.30 this morning, to which he replied he woke at 3.30pm his time (which is precisely 14 hours behind our EST) thinking about me

freaky............ uh oh laugh

have lots of wierd things happen all the time

our foal who is now 11months old....genetically she should have been born chestnut and white or plain chestnut (the mother is plain black, the father is a palomino and white pinto, both black and palomino are genetically linked to the chestnut gene in horses)

but 3 months before she was due, i kept saying to all my friends, we are having a bay and white pinto filly, i just know it

bang, 6th september, out pops a bay and white filly

the color of horse my daughter has always dreamed of

RE: Pro-Gun/Anti-Gun?

hi damowave

now this is more like it, a reasoned rational point/counterpoint

now, i will ask this of you damo..

if you were to (god forbid) be subject to a shooting at a club or shopping centre, dont you think your going to be shot by the offenders BEFORE you've even had time to put your hand on your own weapon?

and if say you are harmed in that shooting and you go for your gun, there would be a high likely hood in a crowded area for you to hit an innocent target, as you would be fumbling the shot through the pain you feel?

i am sorry to have make you visualise this situation, but i feel its important to the debate

RE: Pro-Gun/Anti-Gun?

the buddhists are getting slaughtered not just by the muslims

hows this worry about others working for you?
confused

RE: Is Obama doing a good job?

gary, infidels are betrayers of the the teachings of islam

they are not people who do not believe in islam

2:191 And slay them wherever ye find them, and drive them out of the places whence they drove you out, for persecution is worse than slaughter. And fight not with them at the Inviolable Place of Worship until they first attack you there, but if they attack you (there) then slay them

5:33 The only reward of those who make war upon Allah and His messenger and strive after corruption in the land will be that they will be killed or crucified, or have their hands and feet on alternate sides cut off, or will be expelled out of the land. Such will be their degradation in the world, and in the Hereafter theirs will be an awful doom.

Sura #9 Madina
5 Then, when the sacred months have passed, slay the idolaters wherever ye find them, and take them (captive), and besiege them, and prepare for them each ambush. But if they repent and establish worship and pay the poor-due, then leave their way free. Lo! Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.

and might i add, shall i repeal verses from the bible, torah, talmud etc where they speak of killing others who betray their religion or persecute others?
dunno

RE: wHO'S THE GREATEST AUSTRALIAN THAT EVER LIVED ? AND WHY ? AND PLEASE KNOW WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT

would like to add dr fiona wood

Dr Wood has become well-known for her patented invention of spray-on skin for burns victims, a treatment which is being continually developed. Where previous techniques of skin culturing required 21 days to produce enough cells to cover major burns, Dr Wood has reduced the period to five days. Through research, she found that scarring is greatly reduced if replacement skin could be provided within 10 days. As a burns specialist the Holy Grail for Dr Wood is "scarless woundless healing".

Dr Wood started a company called Clinical Cell Culture (C3) to commercialise the procedure. Her business came about after a schoolteacher arrived at Royal Perth Hospital in 1992 with petrol burns to 90% of his body. Dr Wood turned to the emerging US-invented technology of cultured skin to save his life, working nights in a laboratory along with scientist Marie Stoner. The two women began to explore tissue engineering. They moved from growing skin sheets to spraying skin cells; earning a worldwide reputation as pioneers in their field.

vicki roycroft is an equestrian olympian...one of the best showjumping riders in the world in a tenacious and dangerous sport...she just had an eye removed because of melanoma...she is one of my inspirations because she always looks at the good even through adversity

nancy bird walton was a pioneer of womens aviation, who broke through many barriers including poverty to become the first femal commercial pilot

simpson was a stretcher bearer with the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps during the Gallipoli Campaign, in World War I. After landing at Anzac Cove on 25 April 1915, he obtained a donkey and began carrying wounded British Empire soldiers from the frontline to the beach, for evacuation. He continued this work for three and a half weeks, often under fire, until he was killed. Simpson and his Donkey are a key part of the "Anzac legend".

Dawn Fraser won eight Olympic medals, including four gold medals, and six Commonwealth Games gold medals. She also held 39 records. The 100 meters freestyle record was hers for 15 years from 1 December 1956 to 8 January 1972.

She is the first of only two swimmers in Olympic history (Krisztina Egerszegi of Hungary being the other) to win individual gold medals for the same event at three successive Olympics (100 meters freestyle - 1956, 1960, 1964).

In October 1962, she became the first woman to swim 100 metres freestyle in less than one minute. It was not until 1973, eight years after Fraser retired, that her 100m record of 58.9 secs was broken.[citation needed]

During the 1964 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Fraser angered swimming team sponsors and the Australian Swimming Union (ASU) by marching in the opening ceremony against their wishes, wearing an older swimming costume because it was more comfortable than the one supplied by the sponsors, and allegedly climbing a flagpole at Emperor Hirohito's palace to steal the Olympic flag.In 1965, the ASU placed Fraser under a ten-year ban, to which she responded by announcing her retirement.

At the 1964 summer olympics she was alleged to have swum the moat to the Emperor's palace and stole a flag.

She was arrested but released without charge. The Emperor gave her the flag as a souvenir. However, the Australian Swimming Union suspended her for 10 years. They repented a few months before the 1968 Games but by then it was too late for Fraser, at 31, to prepare.
