RE: People living abroad, why do you live abroad?

After I retired,I lived alone in the UK although I had family. My son and grand children, they had there own lives to lead.
So thought what is the diffence living in a hot climate and being alone and living in the wet in the UK alone.
I love the sun and the sea but do miss the greenery of the UK,however life is good here just need to find some one to share it with.

RE: Additional Profile Information : Which of these would you like to see included?

I guess if you are interested enough in a person you can suggest face to face talk on web cam. That way you can confirm or not confirm you are talking to the same person, that is showing in the photo.
So maybe ( Do you have web cam?)
I agree with you about men not looking after themselves, however I do try to do all the right things.(still no interest????)

RE: What do you tell a child when they ask why their mother/father isn't in the picture?

The truth, looking in from the outside and seeing your words, I do not think you have anything to worry about. My advice chooses your words, maybe as follows. As he is a boy this is just my thoughts on how you could approach the subject.

People fall in love but they also fall out of love that is what happened with your father. He fell out of love with me your mother this was before you were born. You were still growing inside of me and unfortunately he also fell out of love for you.
He left us both while you were still growing inside me and we do not have contact anymore.
Your mother was sad but knew she had enough love in her to make up for the loss of love for us both.
When you were born and I saw your beautiful little face then my sadness turned to happiness.
From that day mummy and you have become like one and we are like the 3 musketeers although there are only 2 of us. We are all for one and one for all.
We will together face what ever comes our way; just maybe in the future we will meet some one who will be prepared to become the 3rd Musketeer.

My thoughts go with you take care. Ray

RE: have you ever had a near death experience??

I was in my twenties and got stuck on the end of the cable on an Electric saw and became the earth.I know what it is to be electricuted, all my teeth fused together and every joint in my body became one.It seemed to go on for ever and in my mind I was shouting to switch it off but people tell me,it was just a mumble because my teeth were fused together. The next thing I know I colapsed like a rag doll as all my joints gave out. When I came to my senses my hand hurt not the one carrying the saw but the one that was holding the cable. When I looked I had a hole deep in the top of my finger so you could see the bone but no blood. After being checked out at the hospital,I was told it was one in a million normaly the electric current goes through the heart and your dead,in my case it took a route out through my finger. The one thing I have to show for it is no finger prints on that finger.
I was in my late 50's when a gust of wind hit the side of my car,the momentum took the car across the freeway and pushed the car under the front and back wheels of a Articulated lorry going in the oposite direction. The sound was hurendous as the windows and sun roof shattered as the car was twisted.I saw the wheels of the lorry churning up the front of my car coming towards me.
I said goodbye,to this day I do not know if I said it out loud or just in my mind.
The next thing it all went blank.
I woke up in complete silence,I could see the front of my car 100 yds in front on fire, the lorry stoped 100 yds further on with the driver in shock. It took me a while to struggle out through the opening the roof,of what I can only discribe as a tangled mess of metal.I looked down into what was once a car but now only came up to my chest, there was no space for my legs the remains of the car seat was fused with the engine block.I stood in the middle of the road running my hands down my legs, arms and body.I still had all my body parts however my mouth was bleeding the only loss I had was my front tooth. The abulance came and they took out a body bag until I explained that there was no one in the wreck and i was the driver.
Now aged 67 and as fit as a fiddle so I guess some one up there likes me or at least has some thing else planed for me
