Thanks for the feedback. I thought this way of reaching out might work. I am sure there are some older people have houses with a room. An x-boyfriend from Waterford has a big house with 2 empty rooms now that kids are gone. That is what I am thinking of someone like that. If you have a room or know someone who could use a bit of money for a few months then send me a message. A long story but willing to tell you all the reasons once I get to know you. There are few shared places on the housing sites and they are very young people looking for students and I will not need the room long less than 6 month and maybe only one or two months. It is more for the address at the moment. I thought I would give this site a try just in case someone knows someone, It is always better to know the person if you can. Maybe I have lived in Greece too long it is the way they do things.

Different times in our life we want and need different things. I have lived in places where I did not speak the local language well, now I would love to live in a place where English is the first language, so I can read the signs, watch the local TV or find books and magazines in English. A bigger city or town has book stores, coffee shops and festivals (I miss music and film festivals). A small town village may not have what I crave at this chapter of my life. I guess it is for each of us to know what we really need, and those needs and wants may change, that is what makes it hard to find a match, I guess.
This is an interesting topic for me. I've lived in many places, born in a big city Toronto, and moved to another Vancouver, then here in Europe now over 12 years, living in small cities in Poland then to Prague and here on Crete but plan to move to Waterford, Ireland soon. On this site I have come across some nice men who live in remote areas, where I did not think I could live. Maybe I was wrong, but the idea of moving to a place where I don't know anyone and having to rely on a man, is scary.

I am looking for some information for a book I am writing about Chania, Crete around the time of the war and just after. I've looked online but mostly find only information about the Battle of Crete which is not what I need. My book is a love story between a Greek woman and an American who was stationed in the area around Chania during the war, but had to leave her behind. Maybe someone of this site knows what Crete was like back then, maybe even was here. All tips are happily received.
I agree I have flown from Canada to Europe a few time and I loved the long flights like long drives. Movies and lots of free food and time to read and sleep and think.
I am assuming my star sign you mean the sun sign. If you know about astrology you know that is only the tip of the ice berg so to speak. If you know the person birth information you can learn a lot about them, and see if maybe you are compatible. The moon is about your feelings and emotions and to me it is very useful to know where their moon is.
I am wondering if others are feeling this eclipse. I have felt it for a few days. Looking at a relationship that is not working for me. I will look back and see if anyone else has felt the effects of this eclipse.
Thanks for that and oddly enough I was thinking that this one man who I have been in contact with from Australian is now showing all the signs of a scammer. I guess I never believed they would say they are from oz but I guess any country will fit the bill. Maybe some say they are in Greece but will contact women in the US. It has taken a while for me to put the pieces together, the bad grammar from someone with a masters degree and kids in another country but no Skype and now he is on a business trip gave me phone umbers that I can't seem to reach him and he never calls me. Keeps forgetting information I've told him. So I will be more careful about sending pictures after what you said. I hate to think badly of anyone and it is sad that these scammers are keeping us from reaching out to other countries. I've been blocked from sending even a flower to some men. I have friends from Australia so I know most of them are great people. I am hopeful that one day I will meet someone special here or somewhere. I did meet one man who I really like but he did not feel the same sadly. Timing is everything.
These are all very good reasons and interesting to hear your point of view. Just to be clear I am not talking about the messages exchanged on this site I do expect these men to disappear. But when after many message and you discover you do have things in common and exchange emails. In the emails you send pictures and they seem interested and no warning bells are ringing, but one day they are gone. These are the ones I wonder about. Yes maybe they are married or get busy. But I don't buy that I get busy too how long does it take to write 'my life is crazy have to end this sorry.' Is there anyone who had had this experience too????
No way I will never be that type of person. I think people are becoming rude in real life we don't just walk away or leave a date sitting in a cafe and not say good-bye. As they say come on men grow a pair and just say you are not what I am looking for. I know I'm not everyone's cup of tea and appreciate the honesty.
I will never give up looking for that special one. I know out there is someone who will care as much as I do and who is not afraid to love again. I've met some great men as well so I know it is possible. I still would like to hear from people who have had people disappear, I'm sure I am not the only one.
I agree 100% I have to go slow and for me as I don't want to meet men here in Greece. Well did not but have arranged to meet up with someone after months of emails and a skype call who lives on one of the islands. He is British. I have made one good friend in Spain and also met two other men one in Scotland and one in Ireland. They were as they said and with Skype it is hard to hide much. So far I have been lucky but tons of no goes for different reasons as well it takes time and work. You can't sit back and wait I find. For some of use it is not easy to meet our soul mate around the corner.

I think the net is changing how people relate to others. When I was young people were kind and never rude now I find people treat others as if they are not important. If I meet a friend, I say hello and then good-bye when we part. Why is it people don't think they have to do that on line?
For me it is not about age as much as life’s experiences. I have met some very young people who because ether their backgrounds or family life have lived a rich full life in a short number of years. On the other hand I’ve met people who are very old like me, lol who have not lived much at all? Also it depends on how you have used your experiences and can talk about it. Some people are very interesting yet they think they are not and therefore don’t share themselves with you. Others tell you every boring detail of their life and don’t realise they really haven’t had a very interesting life. My 2 cents Carol
