I'm glad I put an "other" option on the poll because a lot of people are using it. But I was just wondering, what exactly are the "other" answers to a yes or no question?
I'm only starting to realize its extent recently. I haven't had much time to compare the difference between generations, I'm only 26. It's pretty obvious to me now though.
That's true, if we were all lefties the world would be a better place. No smearing ink when writing, because everyone would write right to left. No spiral notebook metal wire imprints on anyone's hand. Only 1 type of scissor. (or is it scissors) ... What else, I know there's more
I say that luck doesn't exist. Things happen randomly. Sometimes good things happen to bad people, and bad things happen to good people. However, most of the time, we get what we deserve. The harder you work, the more the chances you'll be rewarded. What's the saying? You reap what you sow.
Did anyone notice that all the women so far answered either ALL or MOST. I think this shows that men in general are greedy with their choices. All "we" care about is getting lucky, screw everyone else and this planet.
The term Hobo was coined when a man without residence became well known in the metropolitan New York area. When asked from wence he had came he then replied, Hoboken. Then it spread that he was a Hobo from Hoboken. It then became a widely used term to describe the homeless.
I know, everyone's got a joke about NJ. The armpit of the nation. It's all good, I've heard them all.
What movie was it that said: "You're my Mississippi. I grew up in Arkansas, and the only thing keeping Arkansas from being the worst state in the nation is Mississippi. If you're gone, then I'll be Mississippi."
Yes, New Jersey is a leading industrial state and is the largest chemical producing state in the nation when you include pharmaceuticals.
However, it's not all that bad, most of the state is actually still green and clean. Only the highly urbanized areas are bad.
Some NJ firsts and bests: The light bulb, the motion pictureprojector, and the phonograph -record player were invented by Thomas Edison in Menlo Park, NJ. The transistor was invented in Murray Hill, NJ at Bell Laboratories. Bell Lab engineers in Holmdel, NJ were the first to detect the background radiation of the Big Bang. The Passaic River was the site of the first submarine ride by inventor John P. Holland. Most of the world's eggplant production comes from in New Jersey. Jersey tomatoes are known the world over as being the tastiest you can buy. (debatable) New Jersey is one of the top three states for blueberry and cranberry crop production. In 1642, the first brewery in America opened in Hoboken. The first solid body electric guitar was invented by Les Paul in Mahwah in 1940. The world's largest kite festival in the world is held annually in Wildwood, NJ The first seaplane was built in Keyport, NJ. The first underwater car tunnel --the Holland Tunnel, was built in NJ The first baseball game was played in Hoboken, NJ. The first college football game ( Princeton and Rutgers) was played in New Brunswick in 1889. The first radio station and broadcast was in Paterson, NJ.
Why must we wait until New Year's Day to make resolutions? It is the first day of the year, but it is still just a day like any other. One day is not any better than another for doing something good for yourself or others.
Why not stop just stop smoking today instead of putting it off until the new year? Cancer won't wait for the new year to kill you. Sorry, I know it gets old, people telling others to quit because it's "bad for them". I just quit 3 months ago, so I know how it feels.
It is hard, but anything is possible with the right mindset. And a new year will not change your mind for you.
RE: who was the greatest person who ever lived??
I gotta agree. One can't even list here all the things he's accomplished.
