The student attempting to blow the flight from Amsterdam to Detroit whilst on the glide path over "the densely populated city of" Detroit has been formally charged. Apparently he sung like a bird over his connections with Al Queda and where he got the explosive device from (Yemen - when are we invading Yemen, Mr Brown..?)
Or did he ?
Should we believe all the conspiracy theories..? Following on from a 'previous thread' about 911, is this all an inside job or is it a genuine terrorist threat? Similar questions were asked over the shoe bomber. Surely if these were 'genuine' attempts to blow a plane, the perpetrators would not be dumb enough to try it sat in seat 43 A surrounded by passengers who can see what you are trying to do and - importantly - stop you from doing it... surely they would find a quiet corner of the plane where they would not be disturbed (like the toilet) ?
So .. are these instances "inside jobs" designed by the neo-cons to keep the population in a state of semi fear thereby justifying their position in power of Protector of The People?
Or are they genuine "Al-Queda" attacks - albeit spectacular failures... ?
I think it shows the state of trust between us and our governments that we are considering whether it was an inside job. I'm not a conspiracy theorist but yes, the timing and what has been said do look MIGHTY suspicious, and as a suicide bomber I suspect he's well up there with the Chuckle Brothers (UK reference).

You're right, it's a sad state of affairs when we find ourselves instantly considering this possibility.
incredibly irresponsible what was he thinking all that educated wasted sweating America not worth it yellow says just be an engineer and leave the politics to those who know how.
Iuchi_Zien: That's the problem, somebody that incredibly stupid is a perfect target for a "We are A-Q, take this bomb and blow it up on this plane, oh and take the CIA envelope off it before you go" mission. Personally I think he's just a muppet wanting his 15 minutes of fame. I suspect if it had been a Black 0p the bomb WOULD have gone off. No witnesses!
Ok, all you really stupid people out there ....you are being targeted not only by Al Queda to set off bombs but also the CIA.....If someone hands you a bomb throw in in the gargage instantly ....poor dumb people they get from both sides...

I'd say you're dead right. Unfortunately...but very possibly true.
odessaukraine48: you should not be afraid of anything. after all you do live in new jersey. a chemical waste land.
Yes, New Jersey is a leading industrial state and is the largest chemical producing state in the nation when you include pharmaceuticals.
However, it's not all that bad, most of the state is actually still green and clean. Only the highly urbanized areas are bad.
Some NJ firsts and bests: The light bulb, the motion pictureprojector, and the phonograph -record player were invented by Thomas Edison in Menlo Park, NJ. The transistor was invented in Murray Hill, NJ at Bell Laboratories. Bell Lab engineers in Holmdel, NJ were the first to detect the background radiation of the Big Bang. The Passaic River was the site of the first submarine ride by inventor John P. Holland. Most of the world's eggplant production comes from in New Jersey. Jersey tomatoes are known the world over as being the tastiest you can buy. (debatable) New Jersey is one of the top three states for blueberry and cranberry crop production. In 1642, the first brewery in America opened in Hoboken. The first solid body electric guitar was invented by Les Paul in Mahwah in 1940. The world's largest kite festival in the world is held annually in Wildwood, NJ The first seaplane was built in Keyport, NJ. The first underwater car tunnel --the Holland Tunnel, was built in NJ The first baseball game was played in Hoboken, NJ. The first college football game ( Princeton and Rutgers) was played in New Brunswick in 1889. The first radio station and broadcast was in Paterson, NJ.
I know, everyone's got a joke about NJ. The armpit of the nation. It's all good, I've heard them all.
What movie was it that said: "You're my Mississippi. I grew up in Arkansas, and the only thing keeping Arkansas from being the worst state in the nation is Mississippi. If you're gone, then I'll be Mississippi."
