'Too insular'? Possibly. I found that just from going to College in Galway and Limerick (How bad the Dubs were), never mind outside of the country. There's what you might call a 'Tall Poppy Syndrome' in this green and pleasant land. And the English (NO OFFENCE TO ANYBODY!) are mainly responsible for the 'Jackeen'-isms that surround our capital. That whole 'Them and Us' attitude. I once had a guy in College say to me: 'I don't like Dubs ...but you're o.k.'?!
Kinda ties in with what I posted. 'People just looking to chat'. From the responses I got , it looks like people that join have an initial 'agenda' that gets moulded into something else over time. If it means forming some sort of friendships - then I'm all in favour. As a newcommer though I did find it a bit odd that folks just wanting to chat couldn't take it elsewhere. I'm learning! ...and it's getting addictive!
Hi all. This is my 1st. time posting. I'm not sure if this topic was covered previously, but I wonder at the amount of people joining this site simply for a 'chat'. Surely if your someone that just wants to e-mail or make new friends, then you should be joining Facebook, Twitter, Bebo etc. I would have assumed that this site really caters for singles looking to meet that ever elusive 'someone special'?! Why bother signing up if you're not actually looking to meet anybody?! Anybody agree? / disagree?
