You did Texas proud my friend. Made me miss home too. Did you mention the best Rodeo in the world. No where else can you see cars pulled over to let the trailriders with their wagons and horses head into town. Nothing better than the Go Texan parade. I first moved to Texas in 1970 when I was in the Air Force. Spent all four years in Texas. We used to say there is Texas then there is the rest of the world. You could practically drive the whole east coast in the time it takes to get from east Texas to west Texas. And Texans are the friendliest... when they say Howdy they mean Howdy. Jane Long, the Mother of Texas spent a winter on her own waiting for her husband, who was fighting for Texas independence. During that time she had a child and she fought off indians and even had dinner one night with the infamous pirate, John Lafitte, after she rowed a boat across Galveston Bay from Fort Boliver. There is so much wonderful history there. Texas gets in your blood and no matter where you move to or how long you are away, Texas is always home. Thanks Kieyotie
I just want to say thank you to CS. I have received more mail and flowers today than I ever imagined possible. You have welcomed me and made me feel special. In time to come I hope to get to know each of you better and hope that this is the start to some lasting friendships. THANK YOU EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU. I must go now but will be back. And for the very kind gentleman in Canada (you know who you are) this one is for you... ELVIS has left the building.
Texas girls are always the greatest (lived in Texas 30 years before moving to Memphis )
Thanks for the bouquet and very nice encouraging words.
I have received some mails now also critiquing my profile. Makes me look at myself in a different way. I wanted to know who others were seeing me and I appreciate all the advice and (so far) postive help I shall take it all to heart and give it a good ponder
Thank you. I thought so too but then started thinking maybe men aren't looking for sincere and honest. I really don't date and don't know what men my age want anymore.
Thank you Carla. I am who I am. I send flowers and email but they don't get answered so I just wondered what I was doing wrong. I really enjoy reading all these threads so maybe I will jump in here more
I may once in awhile input a thought or two to these threads but generally I have very little activity on this site. I do not get flowers or mail and I would really like to have my profile critiqued. A friend of mine many many years ago said you can't get fish unless you have the right bait. I really want to know as I don't play games and changing bait seems like a game to me. Opinions anyone????
Now, now Freewill, he does have the right to express his opinion. I mean let his words speak for themselves and I just bet he will have lots of women dying to roll over on him. However if I were to agree with either of the two opinions I would say Freewill that I could never express myself any better than to choose the very words you used. Thank you.
Love them anyway. My ex kept putting stipulations on me. Lose weight or else. I finally got fed up with his nagging which only made me turn to food more by the way and informed him that since we had married he lost his teeth and got false teeth, he lost his hearing and got hearing aids, he lost his hair and he gained weight but that ring I put on my finger represented unending love and I wasn't leaving him because of the ways he had changed. Unfortunately we did divorce and guess what I lost about 80 pounds. the first time I ran into him after that the first thing he said to me was "how much weight have you lost?" I had to hold my tongue to keep from saying "well counting the 80 I lost and the 200 of yours I lost...." ha ha. Now I have diabetes and the weight is a struggle again... ugh!!!
Monica except for the cooking ha ha. Everything has a place and should be there but the older I get the more lax I become but I can really identify with her.
