Well traditionally in Maori culture, particularly my Iwi ( Tribe) which is Tainui, Men are always in the kitchen and the women prefer to assit, sort of like a soús chef to the men.
In the modern Pakeha world, there does seem my friend to be a demand for men to cook, now that duties, qualities and skills are accepted as inter-gender.
I think women like males cooking for them because it adds a certain charm to a man, maybe an old hunter - gatherer instinct knowing that he can provide for her and their future children.
