yes i researched my family history years ago, irish records only go back to 1800 how did you go as far as the 1500s i found info in the church of ireland records which went back to the mid 1700s century, i knew a bit of our origins we were originally french Huguenots, so it was the stuff in the middle i wanted to find out, an ancestor of mine was one of the rebel leaders in wexford in 1798 he was later beheaded in edenderry, the family was split between protestant and catholic at some stage before that and the spelling of my name chnged slightly too, going into the 1800s a namesake of mine was sent to van demons land in 1821 i think i got a report from the court on his trial it was in the national paper at the time, we tracked down his decendents in new zealand and he was to say the least a colourful character a great great uncle of mine was a doctor in athy during the famine and the people of athy erected a nice tomb stone for him thanking him for his work, later we were removed from our land and ended in kilkenny where the family house is is still in our name, on form that we knew everything else as my grandad was born in 1890 so he had all the more recent stuff
our goalie was useless no excuses though westmeath were the better team, i was very impressed with kildare, especially after losing flynn, the conditioning on the kildare players is unbelievable i honestly believe ye are all ireland contenders
