What is your opinion on the controversial issuing of gagging orders in the British Courts to top sport and TV stars who have cheated on their wives or husbands? The ammount of these so called super-injuctions is growing by the day thus creating a back door privacy law that is only accessible to the rich and famous. Do you think the papers have a right to report and publish this sort of stuff or should the stars who are caught dipping their wicks be named and shamed?

Why should they be named and shamed any more than the ordinary Joe Soap
I know it sells papers, and we all feel we "know" these people, but are they not entitled to the same privacy as the rest of us JMO

Yea apers should have the rights to print but only if its true the media have slated and caused alot of pain for people in the past.
leisure07: super injuction costs hundred grand just to start proceedings one law for the rich comes to mind
That is my take on it too C.......... these stars are buying the silence of the press and as David Cameron said "it is the job of the UK parlament and not the judges who should decide where the right to privacy begins and ends"

Even it it is true Biggs these super-injuctions puts a gag on the press from reporting anything, full stop What brought this to my notice was the case of Imogen Thomas a former Miss Wales. She had an affair with a married premership football player and the press got hold of it the football player applied for a super-injuction which was granted. Miss Imogen was then told if she identified the star or spoke about the affair to the press or anyone she risked being jailed......... there are two laws going on here.... IMO

I wouldn't be reading those stories, but perhaps it gives the stars some protection from someone just being involved to sell a story afterwards.

I don't agree with censorship of any type, however there is one side of it that nobody has mentioned. Maybe it will stop a lot of people who set out to bed a well known star with the intention of selling the story to make loads of money for themselves. It might, just might leave more families intact. Don't get me wrong, i know it takes two to tango but there are a lot of money grabbing people out there who will wreck a marriage to make a fortune.
