Oops! Forgot you're closer than the rest of these people and could be scared. Don't worry, though I'd love to visit Scotland, I won't suddenly show up to show off.
I just thought TT was saying she wasn't counting herself among the women. The top of the thread referred to women and aliens, which I took to be men (who I admit do seem pretty alien sometimes), so I was playing with her.
One point I'd like to see discussed is whether people in general have the realization that, no matter how much they believe in an authority, it is their choice to obey. Many times, when asked, folks say, "I was raised that way", or "you have to accept this", showing very little recognition of choice.
I agree, at least for myself. Exploration is essential. It just seems unusual for the majority and I don't understand. Societies as a whole seem afraid of the challenge of really debating what their basic, elementary principles are. We are not educated to be the maximum a human can be, just to fill a slot in the social fabric; boys for soldiers and girls to make more boys.
Not looking for a religious fight. I've just found it fascinating that there are so many but they stay where they are. If one 'worked', you'd think it would be obvious. But the main idea was to explore why people don't explore.
How do we arrive at our beliefs and faiths? Howmuch choice do you think most people really experience when it comes to the fundamental guidelines they follow?
Mostly, it seems that, no matter where people are born, they stick with the belief structure dominant in their geographical area. What accounts for such lack of diversity?
Perhaps. That would explain a lot. Remember the Bruce Willis movie where he doesn't realize he's made the transition from what we call life to what we call death? Maybe no one's told me the truth.
But that would make any, uh, 'activity' with me safe, donchathink?
