BB. Meds are quite effective with this BP. And just wait...if this is what she has, you will feel the "relief" once the meds kick in. After having thought for years that it was depression, yet she still suffered perhaps. And then to have it properly diagnosed. Her life and outlook will change, and the darkness should disappear quickly.
My last serious relationship was with young man who was Bi-Polar (if this is the same as what you are referring to). He was unmedicated however. It was a rollercoaster for me that I had to get out of. I am still working on re-gaining self-confidence and a sense of Self, after that year long experience.
It can be regulated with proper meds. Without meds, it's sad for the person and those close to him/her to suffer with.
