Labelling people does cause a few problems, on the whole, but if I had to attach a faith-label to myself, I would go for humanist.
Humanism is an approach to life based on humanity and reason – humanists recognise that moral values are properly founded on human nature and experience alone and that the aims of morality should be human welfare, happiness and fulfillment.
Our decisions are based on the available evidence and our assessment of the outcomes of our actions, not on any dogma or sacred text.
Humanism is a naturalistic view, encompassing atheism and agnosticism as responses to theistic claims, but is an active and ethical philosophy greater than these reactions to religion.
Humanists believe in individual rights and freedoms, but believe that individual responsibility, social cooperation and mutual respect are just as important.
Humanists believe that people can and will continue to find solutions to the world's problems, so that quality of life can be improved for everyone.
Humanists are positive, gaining inspiration from our lives, art and culture, and a rich natural world.
Humanists believe that we have only one life, it is our responsibility to make it a good life, and to live it flourishingly.
When you say you are not having much luck, a couple of questions for you; How long have you been on here? How many people have you mailed? How many people have you flowered? How many people have you winked at?
How can people get in contact with you about you, unless you put stuff in your profile.
Without this stuff, you are just another profile taking up space in the grand ether of internet life.
Be special. If you are as good looking as your pictures say you are, prove that you are worthy of a man's attention by putting your personality out here for all of us to see!
Nuthin wrong with being Jewish or christian or muslim or buddhist, etc
But there is something terribly wrong when you try to ram your ideas and dogma down my throat.
Something is only sacred to individuals.
Im so against religion and all it stands for, but that doesnt mean Im going to bomb you or invade you because you believe something else. (Im British for doing the invading-thing - 1000 years of practice)
The discussions on the Middle East, religion, extremism should all be banned. They get heated, very opinionated and sometimes people get banned.
There are so many facets to the Middle East. I have lived there. I have some views (Im not going to share) But it worries me that the inate fear that a lot of people from North America have about things they dont understand is indicative of humanity as a whole.
Misunderstanding leads to fear and resentment. Which in itself leads to anger .. and we all know where that goes.
If you had to cancel plans because of obligations, why are you making plans that are likely to clash with your obligations anyway???
Why cant you make plans that are outside of them??
I have a friend who is constantly let down by her scumbag of an ex. She has alternate weekend access, and at the last minutes, on a regular basis, she gets a call saying he has to work. This means the night out that my friend has planned is up the shute!
So, instead of going out, we stay in and chill at home.
Children are a privilege, and as such have to be 100% first in everything you do. No debates, no discussions. You have to work around them, not the other way around.
