Love can be a feeling, a sentiment, a caress
Love can be a dream, an engagement, a test.
True love is gentle, its forgiving, its pure.
True love is generous, its forthright, its sure.
Your love is jaded, its conditional, its demanding.
Your love is harsh, & it lacks understanding.

I yearn for love that touches my skin like a breeze
For a love that gives me wings and makes me feel free.

People deserve love that makes them feel strong
People need love that lasts all day long.
Our love should be courageous, sacrificial and warm
Our love should be a shelter after the storm.
