I'm So Glad He Made You Mine!

I lay awake in bed at night,
watching you my princess sleep,
it's times like this i know for sure,
my life really is complete.

So many times i stare at you,
i see your so one of a kind,
and i whisper to god before i sleep,
I'm so proud he made you mine.

I just want to pull you into me,
and wrap my arms around you tight,
so you could know your safe and warm,
throughout these cold and dark wet nights.

Whenever you are here with me,
the sun it always shines,
so thank you lord I say again,
I'm so proud he made you mine.

No words could ever describe to you,
why i love my princess dear,
maybe its the cuddles she gives me as she sleeps,
or her gentle breathing in my ear.

I don't have to be rich to win her love,
all I have too give her is my time,
and because i know she's one of a kind,
I'm so proud he made you mine.

Every time I have my princess,
my heart swells up with oh such pride,
when my final day comes upon this earth,
I'll still be right by her side.

I know I keep on saying it,
and i'll say it till the end of time,
When the lord Jesus blessed me with Chloe Hodge
I'm so proud he made you mine.

A Soldiers War

He walks out of the front door,
and out the garden gate.
in his smartly ironed uniform,
not knowing of his fate.

He turns too the top window,
a small child standing there,
blowing kisses to her Daddy,
freckled faced, and long blonde hair.

He plucks a kiss from out of the air,
and places it in his top pocket.
Then flips open the picture of his wife,
he has in a golden locket.

A silhouette of a woman,
appears to stand behind his child.
He blows a kiss towards them both,
So gently soft and mild.

He stares back at the house till out of sight,
for one thing he is not sure.
Will he ever see his family again,
For he is off to fight a war.

One day he's happily playing Daddy,
With a wife and daughter he so loves.
The next he's dodging bombs and missiles,
being dropped from up above.

He finds his strength and courage,
By squeezing tightly round his locket.
And remembering that special kiss he caught,
Placed in his top left pocket.

Every day he'd write a letter home,
Yearning too see his family once more.
Confused and don't know... even now.
What all this fighting's for.

Then one day the letters stopped,
and tears his darling wife she shed.
As the colonel marched up to her door,
With sad news her husbands dead.

He handed her a letter,
Her eyes wept as it was read.
Then she took the shiny locket,
Placed it over her daughters head.

The letter said I love you both so much,
I've placed a kiss inside this heart.
Place it round our daughters neck for me,
So we will never be apart.

Take our daughter to the backyard,
And point her out the brightest star.
Tell her that's me looking down upon you both,
No matter where you are.

I'll sit up here, looking down on you,
until such time as when.
I'll know that i'll be able too
Hold you both in my arms again.

A Million Roses

If I had a million roses,
I would give you one each day.
Just to show how much I love you,
In my own romantic way.

I would kiss you every morning,
Soft and gently upon your cheek.
And place one of my million roses,
On your pillow as you sleep.

I would turn around a look at you,
Sleeping peacefully in your bed.
Then I’d creep back and kiss you one more time,
On your soft and smooth forehead.

I’d handle everything life throws at me,
Throughout that day I’d take the pain
Because I’d know it just was a matter of time,
Till I got to be with you again.

That’s how I’d start to spend my roses,
999,999 roses left to go.
Leaving you one each morn upon your pillow,
Sign of my love too you I’d show.

So could you offer me a million days?
As one opens another closes.
And eventually I would give to you,
My entire Million roses.
