You say that love is on your side
You've said it time and time again
Please take some time while by the riverside
Drink from the river flowing.

Remembering the years that you tried
To hold on to a love you once had
Those memories bring tears
As you look back on those years
Drink from the river flowing

That love that you had together
It seemed to fill all your needs
But that time has gone by
Won't you face the reason why
And drink from the river flowing.

Love is from a river flowing
Yes love, a river flowing
Would you please take some time while you're by the riverside
And drink from the river flowing.

Over there there runs a little boy
He sings his song of joy
He sings his song so loud and clear
For the others
He knows they hear.

Isn't it so grand

To know

The river that runs by
So swift and fast
You know the baited hook won't last.

The Lord he planted seeds in the ground
Some went here
Some went there
As the world went around.
Some grew strong
Some grew weak
Others you know
They are still asleep.
