SHINING STAR

Sometimes there's a shining star, it's never really too far.Pausing to watch that glow, suddenly it begins to grow.I see a woman of medium size, with curly hair and cute brown eyes. She speaks softly to say hello. That voice I already know. The mind has a special way, when someone brightens your day. They both look up above, is this really true love?Sometimes there's a shining star, it doesn't matter where you are.We always do the best that we can, a beautiful woman and her loving man.Sometimes there's a shining star, I said, sometimes there's a shining star, and love isn't very far. And love isn't very far.

About this poem:
I wrote this several years ago. I think it's self explanatory.

SURVIVOR

Very few women are interested in a handicapped man, as God is my witness, I'm doing the best that I can. I shed real tears, the lonely part of life, searching for that friend, that may become my wife. My kidneys were failing, that part is true, one never knows, it can happen to you. I still love to laugh, a comic with endless tales, laughter is the best medicine, a cure that never fails. Many things make me tick, I'm enjoying my time, I love to cook, and been called a master of rhyme. I take one day at a time, that's everyone's rule, a loving and caring man, I'm nobody's fool. I say daily prayers, the mind is thinking each day, my book never closes, I still have a lot to say.
