rusty_knight: I felt FINE when I got up at 7 a.m. (I didn't have to go to work though like LisaJane or Jacko)........
I gradually started feeling tired and irritable as the day went on and now I'm almost flaking out and it's only just gone 9 p.m.!
Feeling tired?.....maybe something to do with boogying yur toosh off all night, and 'pint chucking'.......or maybe the 'white knuckle ride' back to the Ferry.......next time it's use the rickshaw.
ANGE1SD0EXIST: Yes it was.........vaguely remember drinking some weird cocktail, goes by the name of Fluffy Duck......thanks Jacko! Dont think I'll be revisiting that experience any time soon.....yukety-yuk-yuk...quack-hic.
By the end of the night you looked a bit 'fluffy duck' and all!
You kept saying to me: 'Taste this - isn't it awful?'
ANGE1SD0EXIST: Alternate cocktails: try the jacko21 ......cisk, smidgeon of dog hair and a hint of bad attitude garnished with remnants of canine devoured foam rubber from the banjaxed sofa!
'The Smoky' - vodka and milk with a dash of wild fermented thingy berry juice gathered by Kalahari pgymies, adorned with a succulent 'mbogo' grub that has been gently squeezed round the rim of the glass, plus a dash of ground rhino horn to give it a little 'lift'
'Tha Lagoona' - a cisk 'cocktail' made up entirely of freshly squeezed through trousers cisk with added cisk and a touch of cisk.
'The Ange1' - Chadonnay and advocat... a sweet but sickly smooth combination that goes down easier than it comes up!

lisajane: Well i just got back from work STILL feeling the worse for wear but at least i got through my working day although i cant have been a pretty sight more like a living (just) zombie!!! but both myself and KT had a great time and it was a shame to leave earlier then the rest of you but had to be up at 6am. Thanks to all that turned up to enjoy the great company of Queen Smoky. I will look forward to the forthcoming pics...
I left shortly after Lisa and KT, had to be up by 6 for work - supposedly.
Well I overslept a bit and took me the whole day to get back to my senses. Was actually half an hour late for work but things got sorted.
It's been a wonderful meeting and was surprized to see so many of us!

Halcyon: Halcyon with a Haircut! Time for a change, the name Halcyon, for those that couldn't figure it out and didn't wiki for an answer, was more appropriate to my previous picture in my profile.
Halcyon - meaning golden. Thanks for the wonderful company on Saturday and all those Halcyon pints of beer
Halcyon is derived from the greek word Alcyoni/Alcyona wich is a bird and it can be used to mean "Golden". But since you already probably know all this, i will add a bit of mythology to it:
When Alkioneus was slain by Hercules, his 7 daughters threw themselves into the see in their desperation. Zeus took pitty on them and watching from above, he transformed them into birds--Alcyonides. When time came to give birth, they discovered that they were the only birds in ancient times that had to give birth to her little ones during the freezing winter. So they went up to mount Olympus and found Zeus where they explained their problem to him. Zeus being kind and considerate, aknowledged that indeed they had been unfavored and therefore he ordered that every year, between 23rd of December and 15th of January, there be sunshine so that Alcyon could lay her eggs.
And so it came to pass that ever since then, Central Greece takes a break from the hard winter and Alcyon can lay her eggs. And so it came to be known as the "Alcynides meres" (days of the Alcyona). And Alcyon lays her eggs. And Zeus was happy.
