At Last

For a few days I have made some changes. I rewrote my profile narrative, erased my blogs and deleted photos I used for blogging. They were saved on CS. More than 950 photos were deleted. Yes.. more than 950! shock I couldn't believe it my self. Clicking the erase button was sooooo very boring.. but I could manage to finish it all, leaving one picture.

Embedded image from another site
That one always made me smile.. thinking of the moment I used that photo and the CS blogger who photoshopped it for me.

Hmm.. some good memories! daisy
Thank you CS..bouquet

WE LOST ANOTHER ONE

So's not to disrespect the passing of a long time regular blogger ...
one I was sorry to hear had Died sad flower
I've decided to bring out this a separate blog instead.

But on the original blog where I read Jac's hypocritical crap it makes my blood boil and to use such a blog trying to give the impression she is nice, fun and friendly even, what a load of bollox. Then she goes off on one about friends, which is even more bollox.

True, unfortunately we have lost cyber friends to death sad flower
but how many have we lost because of YOU Jac.

I'm away in the morning holidaying for a while so I'll not be allowing comments but just so you know I think you've got to be the most nasty bad minded person I've ever come across here and to portray yourself as being anyway different by reposting a dead mans post, is very bad taste and very disrespectful too
thumbs down

I can now relax completely! (Making plans for my 40th birthday - part 5)

I have been stressing thinking about how to manage to get everything done for my birthday, particularly the day before. It's a Friday, so I am off early. However, my cousin advised me to get Friday off, since I am going to be swamped with things to do.

I want the day to run perfectly and without a hitch. From the food being on time to the music being good and at the right volume.

I then asked my team leader, if I could have June 14th off, since that is the day before the birthday celebration. That ways I could just take things slow and make sure everything's all set for the birthday. I can get decorations up, arrange the tables, arrange how the food should be placed.. Just generally take it slow and - possibly - over-prepare for the birthday. I am the kind of guy who likes it when things go well. I hate letting people down.

"I'll look into it and give you a response", was his reply.

The day went without anything intense happening. It's been quite a boring day, actually.

Towards the end of the day, I asked my team leader if he had looked into if I could get June 14th off, since I hadn't gotten a response from him regarding that.

"Yes, you can get that day off".

Score! That means I can finally relax and just take things slow. Well - as slow as you can take planning of a 40th birthday. I can start as early as 10 am, and just make sure everything is perfect. If I forget to buy anything, I can just run down and buy it.

I still need to figure out if I am bringing my laptop for the music, or if I am using my phone for that. I am leaning towards using the laptop, and using my phone for pictures and videos of the party.

Oh - also an added bonus: Next year, it's my brothers turn to celebrate his 40th birthday. This time I am not planning any party - I'm just gonna show up and have a great time!

The hunt for a new forever tenant.

I had a guy who rented my other farmhouse for 23 years. We were like family..I knew stuff was taken care of. The plant he worked at blew up and killed him!wow frustrated blues But, his best bud who hung on the farm with him, said have me and I will take the house. 6 years. And he ended up with a staph infection from a hospital visit and in a week of going in to the VA sick, died last October!help So I helped his family clear the house. And then decided to shut off heat and water which I need for the barn or button up the house and heat it low. Filled windows with sofa foam kept out of their dumpster, heavy vinyl and pink styrofoam, taped, shut off and made it through. Plus could work on fixing stuff a bachelor didnt think was important. Still lots to do to bring it back up AGAIN!
So now got to thinking..summer leases. So posted ad on craigs to start search. I spell out lots of what I want. I live on the opposite side of the barnyard so have more control over who I take. First is a 25 year old with a 2 year old kid, newly split. NO! House has lead paint, stairs, balcony, poison ivy, barbed wire, stinging nettles and a mule, plus river shore. WELL! You want a prepper type and think nettles are bad. Yeah? Well go set that kid bare butted in them and you deal with the screaming! House is listed ONE bedroom. Craigs wont let me say no kids. I dont need to watch some young guys kid nor deal with his ex who thinks things are not rosy.
Then get a guy who sounds great. But, no car, doesnt want want anymore. Uh..10 miles from town..kind of NEED one?doh Then a woman. And another woman.
Now I can't say a woman wont work out. I can do everything a man can and know boarders ex could. But, men do have advantages women dont. Life heavy lifting powers? Strength? Mechanical abilities more than women?
I guess I will keep searching for that forever tenant that likes historic homes, farm life, off grid prepper type and OH... I forgot a guy...a JOB! roll eyes
I guess for some renters...would be renters...hope springs eternal in the hearts of the doomed. Rather like the young ones on CS who hope to get "adopted" by a sugar daddy or mommy.
I wish the newspaper actually had ads anymore or stores had bulletin boards. Bars do..uh..no thanks. Farms stores maybe. But, those customers HAVE a farm.laugh Meanwhile I guess I run the farm myself. Been there, done that. And hope to find a tenant/caretaker that doesnt get killed!uh oh

Decorations acquired! (Making plans for my 40th Birthday - part 4)

For the past few weeks, I have been planning what kind of decorations to get for my 40th birthday. With my list complete, I went online to buy it all. Luckily, they had everything I needed in stock, so it's been paid for and it's on its way soon. Everything is closed on Monday, so it'll be shipped out on Tuesday.

Now I need to find a costume to wear. The birthday is in the middle of June, so hopefully the weather allows me to wear something light. When I went to the US last year, I joked about wearing something Trump related, to which my aunt said "If you do that, you're out of the family", so I'm guessing that if I wear a Trump costume, it won't go down well.

I need to look for the perfect costume. One that just screams USA. I have some ideas, though. But for now, the decorations are secured. Next up: Food!

A tradition I look back on with fond memories

Here in Denmark, we have a little tradition in public schools, known as "throwing with caramel candies". Whenever 9th graders graduate, and go on to university or any other form of higher education, They dress up and go from class to class armed with caramel candy, and then the students throw a handful of them into the classroom.

It's a highlight of every school year, and a student can easily end up with over 100 pieces of caramel candy. I remember when it was my turn to do that, way back in 2001. I was sixteen back then, and I remember vividly buying a load of caramel candies, putting on a costume and roam the school halls with my classmates. We'd make a big spectacle out of it, making as much noise as possible. Whenever a student from one of the younger classes saw us, they would shriek, run into their classroom and yell "They're here!"

Some of my classmates were pretty evil. They would straight up launch the caramel candy into the classrooms, not caring if they hit a child in the head or in the eyes. Many injuries were sustained during this time. Mainly bruises and swollen arms. Nothing major.

It WAS a different time back then. Not as.. Sensitive as now. Back then we didn't have the amount of mental illnesses that we do today. Or if we did have them, we didn't really hear about them.

Anyway.. Once the shenanigans of the caramel candy was over, we'd gather in the main sports hall and get our diplomas. We'd get some refreshments, which usually was some candy and chips, and then we were sent on our way out of the school.

It's the one day that every student look forward to, because it's not a regular school day. No teaching takes place.

Students are encouraged to bring a spare set of pants, just in case some of the graduating students decided to target someone for what's known as pant water.

What is that, I hear you ask? Well.. I will tell you. If one of the graduating students got a hold of you, they'd put you in the nearest urinal and activate the water, soaking the pants of their victim.

However - it should be noted that it's done in good fun. To my knowledge, no child or adult has ever been angry about pant water, since it's been around since forever.

I loved my last day at elementary school.

Cohan the barbarian

Ok. So the case against Trump depends on their star witness.rolling on the floor laughing The defense is making Cohan a laughing stock. That call you made..YES!..uh..the one that the call log shows was 97 seconds long? After you were told Trump wasnt there? YES! So that is the one you talked about the election to Trump? YES! Is that another lie? yes....
What about the pod cast where you talked like a lunatic and how you were making a vendetta to get Trump no matter what..just because he left you behind and didn't carry to the White House and give you a plum position.
If this jury finds Trump guilty...it will be a bought and paid for rail road job. And show one doesnt need proof anymore in court cases. doh

Making plans for my 40th birthday - part 4

I have planned the menu for my birthday.

Hotdogs, burgers and hot wings. Now begins the task of slowly buying the things I need for the food. Step one was today: The barbecue sauce.

I have bought 4 different ones. Three of them were Sweet Baby Ray's barbecue sauce, because that's the best one, in my opinion. I bought one original, one honey barbecue sauce and one honey chipotle barbecue sauce. The last one is called Bull's Eye, and it's supposedly very good.

I also bought three different spicy ketchup. One is called pepper fruit ketchup, and it has cayenne pepper, dried ancho-chili, white pepper and jalapeño peppers in it. The second one is a jalapeño ketchup and the last one is a habanero ketchup. I am very excited to try them all!

You might ask yourself "Won't the guests hate it if there's a lot of spicy stuff there?". I'm already ahead of you there! There will also be regular ketchup as well as mustard and a lot of different toppings. I'm sparing no expense on the food. Everything needs to be perfect! I am catering to every need.

Case in point is the late entry to the party, which comes in the form of my cousin and her two girls as well as the oldest girls boyfriend. Naturally, I am all for it, so I asked if there were any dietary concerns I need to be aware of, since they're all Muslim and aren't eating pork. So I am getting some chicken sausages for them as well as using two pans for frying. One for bacon only, and the second one for the beef patties that I'm cooking up for the burgers. Another late entry is my brothers friend, who wanted to join as well. Naturally, I was all for it, so the total people coming is now 24.

I have planned for 30 people, so there's still room for more people. We're officially One month and 5 days away from my birthday!

I can't wait!

Crisis averted! (Making plans for my 40th birthday - part 3)

Yesterday, my mother called me and asked if I had paid the fee for the venue where I am having my 40th birthday shindig. I replied that I believe I did pay the fee, and that I would check it and report back.

If the bill isn't paid 2 months before the date of the event, it will be rented out to someone else. So, naturally, I kind of panicked. I mean, what if I hadn't paid the bill? Where would I host the party? Would it be hosted outside on the grass? Up at my mothers apartment? That might be a bit small, because I am expecting 20 people. I could host it at my place. I have a garden big enough, and there's also a basement room, but that's too small.

So - I had a look at my mobile pay statements, and I found the payment last year. I then had a look at my account, and I found the payment as well, so it should have been paid. To be sure, my mother would talk to the caretaker of the apartment complex she lives in, and report back. I wasn't worried, because if the payment had gone through, and I hadn't received my money back, everything should be in order. Right?

This morning, my mother called me to report on what the caretaker said. Everything is in order.

That means I can continue with the planning. We are about a month away from my birthday, so it's about time to figure out the menu. I might draw up something in photoshop and get it professionally printed out and hung on the wall. I think I'm gonna do that. I need to figure out what size A3 paper is and make something truly fantastic!

It's gonna rule!
