Some of my great experiences on this site is meeting with friends.
I value friendship so much. They fill up my days with great positive feelings of just about anything. I have traveled the world and met so many of them and I wonder if there are some on here, like me, that have met some friends? Love even?
Would you travel regardless of miles, if you can, just to meet them in person?
I am happy for you. Me, too, almost all done. You know having 7 grand children and all wants different things, whewww.. there is a lot to be done String..
Thank you for joining Life. Indeed, to some but majority, religion is a unifying force, specially to the have nots. At least what I observe is that majority of the under privileged are easier to be in a group that can give them hope. Or 1.4 billion of islam wouldn't be around and neither is 2.8 billion Catholic. Not too many who thinks believing in God, where religion is not needed.
String, it is so nice to be able to participate on the forum. I am back. Yes I kind of believe that it fits on our Revelation and on the claim of Armageddon.
A very comforting reason Obs. Indeed, when 9/11 happened, my church which was empty most of the time, got overflowed for the next months or so after that.
I was brought up by a very loving and religious parents. I learned all the good and great things about God. How we should and must always do good because we would be punished if we didn't.
As I grew older, I realized there is nothing wrong with that teaching, except the punishment was not logical. I found out, though, that it is our responsibility to account all actions we do, with or without religion. My take is, religion is good for unifying people, supporting each other and I have to admit, my Catholic church, St. Vincent De Paul Society, feed a lot of people everyday, (I used to volunteer and ) for as long as I can remember.
I noticed lately that almost all discussion about religion tends to go askew and I think because we only associate religion to the bad things it fosters.
There is a very good side of having religion. With due respect to those who are atheist, this is not for you to get criticized for not having one. Rather with staggering numbers of followers on 6 major different religions (or possibly more), there has got to be a great reasons why we, the majority, believe in such an organization.
Can you site some reasons why we have a religion? What it does to you?
Thanks Ito, nah...and even if you are going to be a GOM. who cares, you have earned it. But back to the illness, of course I remember, you mentioned that in one of my blog. Remember? I share your sentiments, as for me, two cancers and still kicking is enough to make me feel good about life. Now aneurism is the culprit. But these are the mysteries of life, that even with our high tech medical breakthrough, can't seem to handle yet, I am thankful to be alive. Visit my new blog, you might like it.
Well keep up the good work CC. Your good nature is blessing to all, including me, and I do learn a lot from you. You have no idea, I sometimes back off and digest what it is you are saying and more often than not, it makes me reflect on a better direction as to what I am about to do. Thank you.
Nice to see you Ito, been a long time. I was wondering how you were for a while. Anyways, yes on lies. I learned over the years that once a liar, will always be a liar. Best thing is to spot them flaw first time. You can't ever make them look at you and admit it. I guess, it is not discernable for them to know that it is a lie.
Winter doesn't seem as bad as last year in the Mid West. California Sierra however, is so full of snow and it is good for business specially in the Tahoe areas. Squaw Valley are booming at the moment. Last year they had to make artificial snow for the skiers.
Well Yubba, that is easy. Just tell your bitter/better half (that is if you're already shacking together) to clean up.
Just saying. Me too, wheww one time I was sitting next to someone who smells like whoah!!! and my friend told me: "it is weed" but I glanced at him, and he looks like he just got done doing a sewer job.. yay..
CC, good morning. Well they do have emotions, too, CC. but yes it is pathetic when they can't move on...IMO, I wouldn't even have anything to do with that kind of a man CC.
what truly turns you off
Thanks CC. I am glad to be back..lol lol..Take care...and thank you for being you. Most direct and no nonsense on all your posts..Love you my dear lady..
