via Train, yes, Amtrak does have options from several parts of the country, depending on pickup location and fare choices parts will be by bus, that will then get you to Vegas. Check via Amtrak.com
This option may only be cost-effective if you live in a surrounding state of Nevada, the cost for me was more than flying into Vegas...

Los Angeles, CA [Airport code:LAX or ONT] - 270 miles, 4 hours...
I have made this beautifully scenic drive while in LA on business, very simple to get to Vegas by getting any North/South Freeway toward I-10, get on I-10 East or West (toward San Bernardino) to I-15 North and that is it... that simple, 2 freeways, I-15 runs right by the Vegas Strip Casinos you will NOT be able to miss them...
Salt Lake City, UT [Airport code:SLC] - 425 miles, 6 hours...
I-15 is easily accessed from many locales in UT via E/W routes, just take I-15 South and Bingo (yes, little gambling joke) you're there....
Phoenix/Flagstaff, AZ [PHX/FLG] - 295/250 miles, 5/4 hours...
again, easy access North/South to I-10 West (or US60-W), to US-93 North which will get you to I-515 and ultimately I-15 and the Strip...
Reno, NV you can try Reno, but I've always found it expesive to fly into Reno, but it is a reasonable drive from there as these other locations...
CAR-POOLING If you plan on driving into Vegas, please post your start location and details, as others may be willing to Car-Pool and share the Gasoline/Petrol expenses reducing overall travel expenses...
