FATHER ,ME AND HIS BLUE RIDGE BICYCLE

This article special for my old fater at the Father's day.( 16th,Jun )

It is a true story happened in my very early life and gave me a sweet memory about Dad.

When I was born in the early 60's. There were no private cars and subways , only public buses and bicycles. My parents loyaled to their work,so I couldn't stay at home alone. They believed that a close family relationship should be comes from their own emotion payment. They refused other people to help. Coz of my Mom's weak body , Dad undertook the task to take me to the nursery which was located at their working place.

It's sounds a little bit adventure for me at that time, Dad had a 28inches, blue Ridge bicycle.  A small leather suitcase was tied on the backseat of his bike. I was too small to sit up. So he used this way to let me lay in the suitcase and cycled me to work together everyday. This was a really special, short trip for me. But I had no idea about anything at that time, till one day, a traffic police found me! The law of traffic not allowed a bicycle to carry another person, I am not a suitcase but a baby in suitcase. Dad had to take a lesson as the police asked for how to know the law of traffic better. After one week, the police retuned his bike, but ...how could we do then? Dad choosed another road to avoid main road. No cop there and I was still on his bike...

Luckily it was a short distance from home to his working place, luckily it was getting winter season when I could sit up. Another small bamboo weaving chair was fitted on the tripod ahead. I sat there like a chicken under dad's wing. I can looking forward and around. I felt glad that I can listen to Dad's voice easily. As time passed by, Bamboo chair was replaced of a small wooden pad which I sat more comfortable. later nothing needed on the tripod as I grown up enough, I still out with Dad ,the Blue Ridge bike to my kindergarten. We are trinity.

I still remembled that the two bells on the bike gave me much pleasure. The left one sounded dull and weak, like an old man's voice, the other right one sounded loud and strong. like a young woman's voice. I didn't know why Dad put two bells there, one is enough I thought.  I only knew clearly in what situation I should be press one of them or both, all according to the age of people walking by.We couldn't scare old peole when they walking by .This I was learned from Dad on his bike.

My Dad took care of his bike good as well as me, He teached me patiently how to ride bicycle, he is a good ,polite ,gentle man, never loud voice, never lost his temper... Now he is getting old and weak and still stay in hospital ,I do hope he can keep well under the doctors and nurses caring...

In short , Dad , I want to tell you that I love you more than anything else, you always in my heart, thank you gave me life and help me to grow up. My feelings for you beyond any words to say.

Happy father's day to you , My dear Dad.

PS; Thanks for reading.
