Luke 18:18-25

Luke 18:18-25, “And a certain ruler asked him, saying, Good Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? none is good, save one, that is, God. Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother. And he said, All these have I kept from my youth up. Now when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me. And when he heard this, he was very sorrowful: for he was very rich. And when Jesus saw that he was very sorrowful, he said, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God! For it is easier for a camel to go through a needle's eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.”

Repentance

It is God's wish that everyone go to Heaven but it is our free choice to accept His Son Jesus. God sent His ONLY Son as a baby because He loves us all. Jesus walked the earth over 2000 years ago preaching the Gospel of repentance. He knew no sin yet He was crucified and shed His precious Blood for us who are sinners. All He asks is that we turn away from the sin and wickedness in the world and look to Him. Read and obey His Word. Reason being, we are promised eternal life with Him. Sin separates us from God so to be with God we need to have no dealings with the rulers of darkness and sin. Even though God loves us be sure that He will punish us for disobeying His Word.
Come one and all humbly to the Lord Jesus and let us ask Him to forgive us our sins. Let us turn away from anything that is not of God. Let us deny our selves, our worldly and fleshly lusts and obey the Word of God. The Word of God gives us simple rules to live by. Once we do that we cannot go wrong God surely will look after us. Let us all REPENT for no one knows the day or the hour which the Son of God commeth.

Want to know how to get God's peace of mind, not m

Want to know how to get God's peace of mind, not man's?

"Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice. Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."

Follow what Jesus told us to do.

"But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed." James 1:22-25

We have an obligation to fulfill. We can't just sit back and say "I believe in Jesus so I'm saved and all is good, I don't have to do anything else."

We need to be doers of the word, not just hearers. We need to follow what Jesus told us to do.

God is all loving and merciful.

God is indeed all loving and merciful if we choose to follow Him and OBEY His commandments. If He had not given up His one and only SON Jesus Christ to die for OUR sins, none of us would be able to be with God in heaven and all would go to hell. Some people say that God will send us to hell if we do crimes. God does not send people to Hell. God is there if you choose. God is there if you don't. God does not force a person to choose Him. It is your choice. He IS all-loving and merciful. Whether we do or do not choose Him, many things may seem irrational, not loving, not merciful. We may never know the answers to what we think is irrational, not loving, not merciful but we do know? that if we genuinely seek and choose Him, we are covered by his Blood and His Grace and his peace replaces our fears.

Fear.....True fear of the Lord

Fear.....True fear of the Lord certainly has to do with being humble when we realize Who controls our destiny and tomorrow is promised to no one.

Proverbs 9:10
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,
And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

Psalm 111:10
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom;
A good understanding have all those who do His commandments;
His praise endures forever.

Proverbs 3:7
Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the LORD and turn away from evil.

Proverbs 8:13
The fear of the LORD is to hate evil; Pride and arrogance and the evil way And the perverted mouth, I hate.

Philippians 2:12
So then, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your salvation with fear and trembling;

Proverbs 14:27
The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, That one may avoid the snares of death.

Matthew 10:28
Do not fear those who kill the body but are unable to kill the soul; but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

Go and Sin no more...

John 8:1-11

1 but Jesus went to the Mount of Olives.

2 At dawn he appeared again in the temple courts, where all the people gathered around him, and he sat down to teach them.

3 The teachers of the law and the Pharisees brought in a woman caught in adultery. They made her stand before the group

4 and said to Jesus, “Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery.

5 In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say?”

6 They were using this question as a trap, in order to have a basis for accusing him. But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger.

7 When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, “Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.”

8 Again he stooped down and wrote on the ground.

9 At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there.

10 Jesus straightened up and asked her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?”

11 “No one, sir,” she said.

“Then neither do I condemn you,” Jesus declared. “Go now and leave your life of sin.”

Marks of the True Christian

1. You love Jesus!
2. You hate sin!
3. You love God's Word!
4. You love Truth!
5. You love believers enough to tell them the truth!

ROMANS 12;9-21 Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good. 10 Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor. 11 Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord. 12 Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. 13 Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality.
14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them. 15 Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep. 16 Live in harmony with one another. Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly. Never be wise in your own sight. 17 Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all. 18 If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all. 19 Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” 20 To the contrary, “if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.” 21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Sobering words to think about

?"Greed is similar to lust. Its a burning desire to have something for personal gratification and willing to do almost anything to get it. Greed is a hunger that can never be satisfied. The more stuff we get the more we want. Greed can overpower us and draw us away from the Lord. At the heart of greed is selfish pleasure that can consume you. Being greedy for money can blind us to the needs of others which is the very opposite of being loving ,generous ,giving and gracious."
1.Matthew 6:19-21'Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt ,and where thieves break through and steal. But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt ,and where thieves do not break through nor steal. For where your treasure is,there will your heart be also.'
2.Matthew 6:24"No man can serve two masters:for either he will hate the one,and love the other:or else he will hold to the one and despise the other.Ye cannot serve God and mammon {Money}."
"The impossibility of living for God and money is stated here in terms of masters and slaves. No one can serve two masters ! We cannot be loyal and obedient to both at the same time. Either we must put God first and reject the rule of greed and materialism or we must live for temporal things and refuse God's claim on us. Who is your Master and where is your loyalty ? These very words of Jesus are needed in today's culture of greed and materialism.

We are already in these times

?"For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; and they shall turn away their ears from the Truth, and shall be turned to fables"(2 Timothy 4:3 & 4). We are, and have been, in these these times for some time. It's sad that so many are being deceived and deceiving themselves into believing they are saved while, in reality, they are on the broad path that leads to destruction. Read the book of 1 John to see which path you are on.
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Matthew 6:33 (KJV)

The Alpha and Omega

?"I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty." Beside me there is no God, "I am He; I am the first, I also am the last." All begins with God and he closes the saga of earthly history.
