Humanity

The Dali Lama when asked what surprised him most about humanity made the following reply - Man because he sarifices his health in order to make money, then he sacrifices his money in order to recuperate his health, then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present or the future;he lives as if he is never going to die and then dies having never really lived.

That Dali Lami is one smart dude

The monk who sold his Ferrari

I have just finished reading a book by Robin S. Sharma that is changing my life already.
The monk who sold his Ferrari is the story of Julian Mantle a superstar lawyer whose out of balance life leads him to an almost fatal heart attack. His physical collapse brings on a spiritual crisis that forces him to confront the condition of his life and seek answers to life's most important questions. Hoping to find happiness and fulfilment, he embarks upon an odyssey to an ancient culture, where he discovers a powerful system to release the potential of his mind, body and soul and learns to live with greater passion, purpose and peace.
Brillantly blending timeless spiritual wisdom of the East with cutting edge success principles of the West, this inspiring tale shows you a step by step pathway for living with greater courage, balance, abundance and joy.thumbs up

Easy Rider

Today is a beautiful day in Donegal so I started up my old Honda Shadow and went for a spin and stopped off along the way to pay a few bills, get a haircut and then a nice meal at my local diner.
On days like this I really love life cruising these mountain roads. I might not have all I want but I've got all I needthumbs up

9/11 Memorial visit

On Thursday Feb 9th 2012 I returned to visit the Memorial to the 2983 people who's names are enscribed there. It was the first time I had been back since witnessing the events of Sept 11th 2001 from a few blocks away on Greenwich Street. I have to say it was an emotional sombre moment for me returning.
How peaceful it is now to dwell by the twin memorials and get lost in the sound of waterfalling. Perhaps now I will finally lay to rest my memories of that day.sad flower

Life is a short warm moment and death is a long co

I think life should not be reduced to a to do list. Most of us spend too much time working to make money for the things we think we need. The problem is that this is no dress rehearsal
