Character Danger Posture

Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened... ambition inspired... and success achieved. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing.... Security does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than exposure... Never bend your head. Hold it high. Look the world straight in the eye...

But sometimes I have no strength left because it's been beaten out of me. or it leaked out slowly by an unattended hole in my self; and so I can't hold my head up high.......until I have rested, regrouped, reassessed and renewed. I understand the storms in life and I understand the times of rest and even the times of wallowing.
