If I was drowning with our child, and she could only save one, I would expect her and insist she save our child.

First of all i think its a crazy thing to even say those words,as 4 my opninion i dont think that gives such a women who loves her husband more than their kids...no women puts a husbend before her childrenn...dat why its called mom...the best name in world...dats when u;r sick u alway say ohh momm...dats wy she holds u 9 month inside....Holy mom..i loveee uuuuuuuuu.........she should love her husband but the children are always first,the husband can leave her,but the children will be always there for her...sorry if my english is bad im in a hurry...mwahhh to all moms in the world...

After pondering this for a tad, I am convinced that i will be sayin what i truely believe:
A person who truely loves his partner would die for her. I WOULD DIE FOR MY WIFE AS WELL AS FOR MY KIDS.I really don't agree with your idea of love smitten.. its as twisted as a twister!!
THE REASON FOR ALL THE DIVORCES TODAY IS BECAUSE THEY DO NOT PUT THEIR MARRIAGE FIRST!!!!!
SHOW YOUR CHILDREN WHAT A MARRIAGE SHOULD BE AND THEY WILL KNOW TOO WHAT A MARRIAGE IS ALL ABOUT.
IT IS A WIN WIN SITUATION FOR THE FAMILY WHEN THE MARRIAGE IS PUT FIRST...THE KIDS END UP RECEIVING MORE LOVE.
