Out Fishing
On a fine, bright Saturday morningI set out to buy a fishing rod
Thinking I had to do something with my love life
Twenty eight years old and counting
Boyfriend, nil.
At the store I asked
What’s the best fishing rod you got?
The store man said, “here you cute lass,
Unbreakable pole to catch the biggest fish in the sea”
Sure as myself of the buy,
I turned to go.
“Hold right there, sweetie,” said he.
You know you don’t need the stuff
You only need to smile always
To capture a man’s heart.
“Oh!” Said I.
Funny you said that!
I thought to set this thing up
Right outside your store when you get out.
I shouldn’t have wasted a penny!
