Should I post my photo?
My latest post got an interesting comment from hoping2meetu2 which I'll quote here:hoping2meetu2:
"I" was more successful (on another dating site) when I DID NOT POST A PRIMARY PHOTOGRAPH!
And despite claims to the contrary by intentionally 'helpful' CS Site Administrators, and .. successful daters such as yourself, portraying oneself in a photograph, no matter whether it was taken amatuerishly of professionally .. doesn't work for everyone.
Secondly, not every woman bothers to read a gentleman's profile after losing interest in his photograph. Which is not as nonsensical as it may appear. Without a Primary Photograph some women WILL LOOK AT THE PROFILE, and 'that' is the whole point.
Thirdly, not every man advertising on CS is interested in a woman's bra size, pant size (except for Mr Ginger 'Gag' Snaps in the USA!) or 'getting into a relationship' that consists (apparently) of matching their income, status, and lifestyle with another, whilst simultaneously and deludingly referring to that as 'Love' (which 'they' would not recognise if 'it' stood up and gave them a resounding slap)!
And it is interesting to encounter so many different people on a global scale with their own perspectives and insights on/about life, to share among the World Community as represented by all of the various members here at CS from wherever they each reside in the world.

What I'd like to say - you are making a fair point. I went and checked out your profile - it was very though-out and interesting.
The only thing is - there must be a distinction between dating profiles and penpals/friends profiles. While the latter doesn't contradicts the former they are still fairly different.
I'm 27 and looking for a serious relationship of a s*xual nature. My primary dating site is elsewhere and I'm severely annoyed with people who try to become my penpal or, say, use me as a guide. Why? Because I clearly stated my intentions. I'm looking for a man who will, among other things, sexually attract me. Thus - there must be a photo.
I don't see CS as a dating site as such. There is more 'connecting' than 'dating'. Thus here I expect other things from people - and don't really care who they are or how they look.

Why, thank you, dear sir
No matter how hard I try, I can't fantasize about a line drawing...
