Mosquitoes are more attracted to the color blue than any other color.
Don't know if the blue color applies to all mossies, because the mosquitoes in my part of the world are very much attracted to the black color. I'm one good example of that. If I wear my long black pants on my farm, they come out and find any spot that they could get through and bite - no joke...
Some of us are super-perceptive to colour.
If you put a drop of black writing ink on a piece of filter paper (the type used for filtering coffee will do as long as its white and not the unbleached variety) you will see all the pigments in the ink seperating out, including the blue pigment. Doing this is called chromatography, if I remember rightly from chemistry lessons of 30 years ago.
