what about rap or hip hop?????how many of u consid
since music compined with lyrics and birth songs , music had the leading role ,since hip hop and rap showed up on wold's musical scene ,lyrics overcome music . i prefer ,me as and many musicians, to see those musical genres as reciting poems with musical accompaniment of a simple form.but this aint music .those who hear instrumental - music ,with no lyrics - , know that music has a power of its own. can make u cry , lough , fly etc , needing no words-lyrics - , to accomplish that.
tell u the truth i can play by heart 1000's songs ,but never bothered to learn the lyrics ,only a few , i liked the words a lot.
what's ur opinion . please dont post links ,i have a very slow conn and i wont be able to open them.thank u

YES
voice needs to have identity. like the guitarist sound , to make the singer or the player recognizable to our ears .dont forget ,most of us listen to our cars , the music we love.
Sorry my friend where is the problem!? I thought he was a good singer?

thanks for ur comment dear lady.
I listen to alot of heavy (but intelligent) rock, some mainstream and quite a bit of techno, which I regard as the antithesis of rap. Superb lyrics, melodies, baselines and rythyms are capable of emanating from any genre, theoretically, but in my view, least likely to be born of rap or hip hop.
I normally enjoy music which demonstrates a high degree of emotional intelligence which will show through in the lyrics, the choices of instrumentation and the execution of the songwriting. I don't much appreciate simple songs and rap falls into this category for me. Also included are artists like Jason Mraz and Jack Johnson. They seem to write a quick tune with one instrument, record it and whamo...instant success.
I prefer heavily complex, layered tracks utilising multiple instrumentation and genuine vocals which you can tell the artist/s has laboured over for days or weeks and given their heart and soul into.
At the end of the day music, like all art forms, is about honesty. Without that, you will never have anything more than limited success and deserve no accolade. If you don't truly feel it yourself, you can't write about it.
Hey i am not Simon Cowell to know that.
Did he fool us?
music is purely personal matter.
all i need to know is how many consider hip hop and rap , as musical genres???
i meant i am sorry u didnt know about ur problem
love kidding u man.
music is a live art my friend.for me its mostly perfomance in front of a live audience , than recording UR songs in a studio. also trying as musician or singer to make the song or the music urown. its called stigma. the one that defines any real artist
Sorry, but it´s just my preference. Any kind of music is welcome except rap/hip hop.
